Facebook Glitch?

I thought 5000 was the max number of friends you could have, but
i guess this is just a glitch from facebook point of it.

If you take a look at pages he is a fan off, they are Mafia Wars - People add Mafia Wars players when they don't know them. Friending is not hard with Mafia Wars

I'm pretty certain this happens when friends disable their accounts and then re-enable them.

it happens if your at 4,999 friends and have 10 friend requests if you accept them all quickly it will add more than 5,000
