The issues you'll have are if your short url gets banned for any reason that's all your link building down the drain. You'll also be competing with any other site/user in your niche that is using a bit.ly url, as only a few results will be displayed per domain by default.

yeah, as he says there are many bitly spam URLs and other stuff so better if you will redirect with your secondary domain instead of a bitly

it depends on how much links and the quantity will effect on your link juice
