HELP - Side Hustles for Software Developer?

Hey guys,

As I was browsing the forums looking for ways to make passive income on the side, I got overwhelmed by the various methods that I found; amazon absence blog, SaaS, cpa, social media, auto-blogging, etc.

I was trying to narrow it down to something I would want to do over the long term (1+ years) but couldn't decide. I have a background in software development and have a couple of hundred dollars (eventually more) to invest. I would love your opinions on this. Thanks!

I guess the best investment you can do right now is to invest in yourself and improve your software development skills. If you don't mind me asking, how much are you making per year now?
 
Make a software and sell it either for monthly or one time fee
Work as a freelancer
Make bots and promote affiliate offers on social media
The best thing to go with is SaaS with monthly subscription
 
My honest opinion is you sit and think about a good idea for a SaaS. I am going to give you some advice that I wish over the years I could have learned sooner. Don't procrastinate the inevitable, and don't try and re-invent the wheel on your first attempt. I understand that your mind may be going "but dude this PDF to HTML converter already exists, there's 10 different ones on the front page of google!"

That alone should promote positive thinking towards the idea of simply modifying an existing service with your own twist, competitive pricing, and unique experiences. (Think of how many SMM panels sell the same providers services, at different prices, with a different UI, and still are able to sustain business.)

Hmm you're right man. Software development has a huge scaling margin interms of salary but I really don't like 9-5 jobs mann.

Hmm I guess those are my best options. Do you think the make bots and promote affiliate offers is a good market?

I really want to go the SaaS route as well but still thinking of niches. Hopefully soon :) .

Thanks for the positive mindset man. I also think SaaS would be the best interms of using my current skillsets and as a long term plan. Do you know how SaaS softwares get marketed?
