I know of a forum that is sharing CP (child porn) and I would like to report/denounce this site. There are hundreds of active members, a bunch of pedophiles...but in general, my attempts to report are ignored or I get a stupid pre-made email in response.

Who should I report to take a really serious attitude about this? Don't talk about "police" because it is an international site with members from different countries

DOS the site if they're not using Cloudflare. If they're, report it to Cloudflare and then DOS the site.

Report them to their hosting company.

Infiltrate the forum and find IPs of the active posters and report it to their ISP.

Find cybercrime companies that specialize in this and give them all the information you have. There's companies and non-profits that try to find the victims in these cases, and hopefully the people behind it as well. You can also report to the FBI, but I don't think they take action unless you have overwhelming proof of who's behind it.

Do not DOS or do anything illegal that can cause legal headaches on your end. Sadly it takes years and many of them do get away, but you don't know if it's a honeypot or if they're already being investigated. You don't want to have your name mixed up in any of this from doing any vigilante justice that won't make a real dent in this.

I have read a lot about it, the owner of the forum lives in Thailand. I believe that FBI can't help with it...and I'm not american to complain with them. The forum has already suffered several DOS attacks but after a few hours, it is recovered.

I tried to report using Cloudflare, but when trying to report, Cloudflare says the site does not use it.

The domain register is: http://tucowsdomains.com

The hosting is from B2 Net Solutions Inc...I don't know the website of these guys

I don’t know if Thailand is outside of US jurisdiction or not - im guessing they are in interpol at least however, so it’s worth submitting the report to them with details you have… hosting provider, domain registrant etc

Perhaps start by complaining to the domain registrar. I am pretty sure they don’t want to be associated to such evil things.

I think if the owner is a citizen of a country that's in their jurisdiction, they can take action. I saw a story of an Australian citizen running one of these sites that got caught in the Philippines. He acted as a volunteer to "care" for these children. Really sad stuff.

Ashton Kutcher has a company that works to shut these websites down, save the victims, and bring these guys to justice. I believe they use some tech to match the back of the abusers hand to a face and name. A lot of these guys obviously don't show their face, but the back of your hand is pretty unique (scars, tattoos, hair patterns), and most people overlook it.

I remember years ago I used a script I purchased to create fake forum users and scrape/post content from Yahoo answers. I don't know if it got hacked or something, but it just started posting a bunch of porn content. I had already gave up on it by the time I noticed, but it was just one of those things I figured I'd delete completely whenever I had spare time. Turns out it was also posting some really nasty content and I had a cyber company contact me on my personal email address to take it down. An email that wasn't tied to any of my online projects or businesses.

So yeah, I'd defer this to an expert who will take the time to investigate and do what they can. You might be saving a lot of current and future victims.

Can you name any of these companies or organizations that take action on this?

The domain registrar wasn't chosen at random, it's not the normal kind of domain or hosting that cares much about this kind of thing, incredible as it may seem. Anyone who wants to can take a look at the abuse report section of this domain registrar that I mentioned above and try to make a report to see what comes up.

Unfortunately I don't have these off the top of my head, but search around and you should find a decent list. Like I mentioned, Ashton Kutcher's company has a decent amount of press, so that one would be an easy find.

Yeah I'm aware of these companies. They have a hardcore philosophy on "freedom" - that morality shouldn't dictate what's allowed or not. While I do agree that suppressing freedom based on opinion can lead to a slippery slope, there should most definitely be a hard line on certain activities. I'm sure if their families were victims they would see it very differently.

if you are on linux use available tools for OSINT. try the tools available with kali linux. also, just look up "reporting child sexual abuse" and there are some organizations you can report to. you can also file anonymous reports to most organizations. unfortunately cloudflare will probably not respond or react to abuse reports because their entire model is open internet and free speech so that seems uphill battle. but generally just a dns lookup (nslookup) and whois history may help. if there are links in any of the pages that aren't behind cloudflare and reveal ip addresses that is probably a useful lead.

If you're sure the hosting is from B2 net solutions, Report to them : https://www.servermania.com/support

They're based in Canada and wouldn't take this leniently if they get to know the site is hosed on their servers.

It'll be back up in a few hours. Even if the domain gets taken, these guys probably have a telegram group, twitter, or congregate somewhere else on the dark web to direct their audience to the new domain.

Best bet is to let an expert handle something like this to make a real difference.

Now is it legal to ddos this site? If so, I'd like to ddos it. It's disgusting!

It probably isn’t, and it is not that easy to ddos (dos and ddos are not exactly the same) effectively anyway. I think it is the best to leave this to the law enforcement agencies. But they should be informed for sure, no matter if op thinks they will take action or not.

I feel nauseous. It really scares me that there are such disgusting people. It would be a relief to attack, even if it wasn't effective.
I hope the owner's actions work and their servers are deleted.

There are lots of such websites and even if reported and taken down, they are back up and running, the very next minute.
So, will you be sitting and reporting such websites, for 12 to 16 hours a day, 7 days a week ? Even if you sit 24/7, it would not be enough. It will just be a wild goose chase, though your intentions may be good.

Agree. OP can traceroute the domain to see if it's actually hosted by servermania and write to https://www.missingkids.org/gethelpnow/cybertipline instead of directly reporting to them.

I'm sure they can collect the access logs from the hosting provider and punish these perverts legally.
