What should I select for "Export Compliance" in app store? I think my app uses https encryption, etc. The terms are difficult to understand. Do we need to submit the annual self classification report to the BIS(Bureau of Industry and Security). There are mixed answers online regarding this. I also read somewhere that "If your app makes calls to HTTPS or only uses encryption that’s part of iOS to authenticate, verify, or encrypt data you are using exempt encryption. It’s called exempt encryption because it’s exempt from needing a CCATS code before it’s allowed to be published to the App Store"
Export compliance overview
Export laws require that products containing encryption be properly authorized for export. Failure to comply could result in severe penalties. If your app uses, accesses, contains, implements, or incorporates encryption, and you intend to upload, test, and distribute your app through the App Store, you’ll need to determine your export compliance requirements in App Store Connect. It’s your responsibility to review the Export Administration Regulation to determine if your app’s use of encryption requires a formal classification (Commodity Classification Automated Tracking System or CCATS) from BIS.
