Hey everybody!

So I have started up 7 sites. They are in different niches but all fairly well paying.

I have done keyword research to find a decent amount of low and medium difficulty keywords.

I used wordpress auto with openai API to pump out some good quality posts and a lot of them are getting indexed.

Some of the sites are averaging top 20 and top 10 in google search console but I'm only getting 1 to 2 impressions a day at most.

I also did some backlinks to one of the sites to see if I could give it a little boost (20x web 2.0 backlinks) as well as social posts backlinks.

I use GeneratePress as my theme and tested page load speeds and they are lightning fast.

What am I missing? I see some sites on here in 6 months are getting 50k plus monthly clicks, and I am getting 1 a week if im lucky, some haven't even gotten a single click yet.

How many articles have you put on each of these sites?

While I agree that using AI you can generate many articles in short time and as you said they have got crawled too, but it will be interesting to see if they remain indexed or go out of favour of Google. So keep an eye on that.

They have an average of about 400 to 500 on each. I have 3 sets of campaign rules for each site on WPAuto so it gives a nice mix of articles.

Check your GSC stats and see if you can find new opportunities. Generally most guys simply go mad with articles (like 10K+ articles with such AI framework, per blog), or they curate better and optimize a little for best performing articles (which you should find in GSC). Personally I prefer the later method which doesn't mean that perform better than the former.

Can you explain a little more? I'm still fairly new to the game, I have some experience with some tools and knowledge but I am trying to learn here and implement. I will go do some research on GSC now, cause I don't know what it is.

neverming, I am a scrub. I see you mean Google Search Console stats.

You cannot expect to achieve great results with little effort... There aren't any good quality posts with OpenAI + Wordpress auto combo. The fact that the posts get indexed doesn't really mean anything. They may as well get deindexed a bit later, or they may stay in Google index, but never really show up for anything in top 10.

If you see such sites here on BHW, they are either real sites, built by someone with previous experience and with a lot of effort. And, of course, with no AI involved, and also with a bit of luck :).

Or in other cases the stories and the numbers in them are just fairy-tales, especially when the person showing such stats is also selling something on the forum...

You expect to rank on first page by posting GPT gibberish?
Sorry to say it's not happening. Google may not be against AI articles but GPT articles are lowest of the low quality so you're likely to stay in the 3rd and 4th page.

Fair enough, I get what you are saying. I am also manually editing the latest posts now with good featured images and catchy titles. I'm also making sure to do some internal linking between the homepage and posts. I also recently started giving outbound links in the articles for further reading and information.

Not really no, however the prompts I use actually make it quite readable and informational. I am also editing a lot of the posts myself to make them more natural sounding and adding images etc. What I am asking about more specifically is off page SEO. I have done backlinks, social outreach posts, comments on blogs etc. which I see as a common solution on this forum, but I am just wondering if my results are normal, or if the other guys results are normal.

I'm trying to learn here, and make my sites successful, if I am doing something wrong, I would like to know what it is so I can fix it and make the site good.

It's not about readability. It's about what new information you're bringing on the table with your site.
Thousands of new bloggers sprang up in every niche with the unoriginal idea of capitalising with AI content.

What incentive does Google have to rank you when there's hundreds of sites like you peddling the same mundane AI content?

Changing article titles or adding some internal and external links will not be of any help with AI fluff content.

The correct way is to write articles by yourself with AI assistance not the other way around.
I'm actually surprised your articles aren't deindexed yet.

Building tons of backlinks (even quality ones won't be of much help) will do nothing if your content is subpar.

Don't want to sound rude but blogging isn't as easy a way to make money as you think.

Fair enough,

I will try change up the way I do the articles and write them myself with some AI assistance.

What advise would you give about backlink building then? Are there specific places that I should look at for backlinks? I have tried doing outreach myself in my niche, but after sending a lot of outreach emails and not getting any replies, I don't know what to do about that. I've tried some of the outreach templates with my own wording and they don't seem to work.

I get that, but I'm looking for a long term thing here, years and years. I'm not looking for a get rich quick thing.
That's why I am asking for help here so that I can do it correctly

First try to build topical clusters (write articles about a certain topic in your niche and try to fulfill the entire topic, this sends signal to Google that you're an authority in that certain topic).

Start with low competition keywords then slowly move upto medium competition keywords for your articles.

If your content is good enough, that along with the topical authority will push your content to the first page for medium and low comp keywords without any backlinks.

After that, build high quality forum links (you can build these for free if you have the time) and if budget permits buy guest posts or quality PBN links (not the cheap 1$ ones).

Also try to grow the social media accounts for your site for better EEAT. Besides the social signals helps is faster indexation.

As for web 2.0, profile, blog comments links; these kind of links are next to useless nowadays and only used for link profile diversity. Just acquire 1-2 free review copies of foundation links on this forum and you're good to go for these kind of links.

Your results are terrible to be honest with you with 3 months and 7 sites you gotta get a few winners. Try switching to chatgpt plus and write quality posts only.
Use openai api carefully , test, test and test.

Hey can you tell us the index number of these domains currently on Google:

site:domain1.com (it shows 100 pages e.g.)
site:domain2.com

This is important since there is a penalty regard this thing, so first need to know this.

On-Page SEO: Optimize your website's on-page elements, such as meta titles, meta descriptions, headers (H1, H2), and keyword usage within the content. Ensure your targeted keywords are naturally integrated into the relevant parts of your posts, but avoid keyword stuffing.

Backlink Strategy: While backlinks can be beneficial for SEO, it's important to focus on quality over quantity. Instead of relying on web 2.0 backlinks and social posts backlinks, consider building genuine and authoritative backlinks from reputable websites in your niche

Even if you decide to use ChatGPT, it isn't reliable enough to post full articles that would appeal to Google unless you are very sure of what you are doing and like @Kikerinka said, getting indexed doesn't mean the big G's rate you. Do you vet the articles?

It is possible to build a site without backlinks, maybe you could get them in the future to move the needle but I believe without a very good KW research and an accompanying awesome article you just won't get there.

So, just focus on very low KWs and vet your articles yourself, I'm always marveled at people who can focus on many projects simultaneously, isn't 7 a bit too much to start the same time? Don't you think you should cut the workload down and focus on a say two and grow them to an extend before you take on other projects?

To bring another perspective this might not be wrong.

It depends on the actual search volume.

If it’s say 500 a month and you are lower down the front page a couple of clicks a month is about right. Look at the distribution of clicks in the steps. Something like 95% is on the front page and 80%+ of that goes to the top 3 positions

Those sites with 50k are made with original content that takes hours to create and edit.
