Is it possible to remove search results?

I have been getting many mixed responses on this issue.

A client has very bad reputation online. When u search the name of his company the first few results are Tripadvisor and Yelp listings with the stars and reviews and it looks bad and is hurting his business .

We are looking to remove (de-index) those pages, is this doable these days?

That's not possible but you can push for positive content like articles and quality backlinks and try to push those negative results down.

you can try overtaking them in serps by other good-reviews
deindexing them you won't be able to do it
so outrank them
