:) My [Journey] AI Blogging Sites (Yes, another one). Display ads [ Goal 5000$ USD a month with 500 000 Pageviews ] :)

Bored, just decided to put down some thoughts:

I am looking at my top performing AI articles (no backlinking, so raw performances)

Last time I checked, I think my lifetime cost per article average was 0.02332

this includes average affected by revisions, fine tuning, trainings etc etc.

This number wont tell you how much ive spent since not everything spent is article related, and I have other

endeavors using my api etc, but I keep it as a mental note to remind myself of the ROI on the

articles. As the moment they make more than 2 cents, they are already practically profitable (ignoring all other

business costs, one day ill give myself a better analysis but it is not gonna change things much regardless,

if I had to imagine a number out my azz, then id say any article the moment it gains 1 dollar is for sure

profitable based on the cost to make and hours of manpower / hosting etc, put into making the article.

Obviously the goal is for them to make much more than that, as 1 cent profit from an article that earns 1.01 is nothing.

You can see why this is not a good ideal, as by that logic, id need 30 000 articles to make $30 000 to even make profit

which is obviously not the case.

$1 is just a good guideline to me as you can mentally calculate fake ROIs on the spot to

stroke your own ego, even though the real ROI is even larger.

I also cheat since I use workers from my main stuff sometimes, and it is hard to track roi when im messing around

like that as cost for articles on main project is significantly higher with profit to match.

Number 1 AI article so far:

1686362715528.png

This article I dont think was on any of the reports before, it only shot up after it was updated with AI + manual.

It however was drifting around enough to catch my attention, and rightfully so as improving it already has shot it to the top.

Its epmv is mid, it is better than the site average at least.

Their is no real product I can imagine promoting on this page though, so it will strictly make money from ads.

im lazy to look up exact numbers but on my own BS estimates, I expect that once it reaches its max potential (without backlinks) and assuming it keeps it

for a year, then the single article at minimum is a 360$ a year article, produced from less than 3 cents of text.

Number 2 AI article:

1686364074001.png

This page is about a product itself, so it has high epmv, and it also has affiliate links.

People often say not to have ads on affiliate pages but on pages like these, it is wiser for me

to extract money from each visitor this way, than to fully rely on them or afflilates to somehow earn me more.

It is not even rank 1 for its term yet, id estimate this is a 900$ a year article once it reaches rank 1.

I was gonna talk about each of the top 10 pages but I think 2 is enough to give an idea.

Long story short, people who started AI articles early are having inhuman ROIs.

Even if these articles stay in the same spot, (or drop) they have already earnt back their creation cost by a lot.

Just need to average $3.33 Per article a year in order for this one site to be a 100 k a year site.

Easier said than done though, im a baby at this compared to some of the dudes ive seen.

I normally think sites are over priced, but for someone who is skilled, the day gpt 3.5 api was released

might have been the best time in recent history to have paid a lot for an extremely powerful domain to just blast with content.

Somehow, even in off season, we are still hitting new all time highs even though

the growth has significantly slowed down. Some articles in the thousands published are "in season" during this time of year

however I orginally dont see any way that volume can normally make up for the volume lost as

niche wide, summer is a dead zone.

That being said, the articles that are just reaching their potentials, along with the articles coming into their own season

are driving the resistance against revenue drop, and even still slowly growing the revenue.

That along with ad placement and content optimization for ads increasing site wide EPMV.

Yesterday was a new all time high single day for the site, even though ive not actually added any new posts in a good while, just the

constant low volume posts on a schedule to keep the site "active"

View attachment 261627

We need to reach an average of $166.66

a day in order to reach the goal of this journey, so the closer we get to that number (and surpass it in order to make it become average)

is the better.

trailing 30 day earnings are :
View attachment 261628

so we can firmly see this journey is more than half way over.

Still less than 5000 of the posts make up the majority of the revenue, and in possible revenue from ranking the posts

is way higher than want this journey needed to be completed anyways.

while more posts blasting might get us there faster, it could also hurt us. Ideally I want to just reach the goal without needing to do more.

I dont particularly want the site to fall off the face of the earth if it doesnt need to, so eventually it might become a spam clean up opperation

and I may sell it or start product launching.

That being said, it is just a test run so if it does fall, so be it anyways.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A note of regret.

So, their are many things I regret how I handled them initially, especially since I hate creating automation to clean up my own mistakes made from automation in the first place.

Something I just want to say for people who are working along with me.

I heavily regret that the first 4000-10000 posts were done with such little word count and quality.

Since the earliest keywords in a project are usually the best keywords, many of these early posts are the ones that need the most updating and head ache for me

as they were the posts with the most upside, but time and time again im seeing that if my wordcount was simply just larger, then they would have ranked

easier to begin with. This is because my website was not strong enough on its own to make the most of those 500 word posts.

Obviously a stronger website would not need great word counts, but for this specific case, ive wasted my chances to rank on many terms with the first pushes (even though

Many succeed). I say this because while producing content is easy for me, I have issues removing targeting content, so it is not

as easy for me to extract the best posts from the orginal posts, and delete all the worthless ones, and have new content re written for them in a space of time quick enough that

google doesnt deindex them or id need to deal with other BS.

The solution so far to this has been having my team seek out the best potential ones and manually putting them on a hit list to be re done (this is different from the other

method we have been doing where we update best performers).

But as you can imagine, it is mind numbing to need to go through thousands of posts, and re go through keyword reasearch while at the same time needing to

keep in mind hundreds of these posts have already been updated, so you need to manually check many posts.

TLDR, I wish I had articles as good as I do now, back when I started. As while the no images, ai spammy 500 word articles orginally got me growth, they left

a lot of money on the table for higher volume keywords that I could have easily ranked with just more content on each individual page.

I also dont think blindly regenerating these articles at scale is a good thing, it would feel like I just wasted all the original money for no reason.

I also have better uses of my api limit anyways.

Im not saying im a perfect human at estimating ROI, but im fairly sure the lost ROI from me using shit generations at the start is significant.

As easily these groups of wasted articles would each have 10-100x the value per single article of the thousands of articles that followed them, which were practically just

to soak up low volume keywords in the niche.

btw, im gonna mention, I know word count is a contested thing in SEO, but you would be surprised how differently some of your articles get treated just based on word count.

In my niche specifically it favors greater word counts as people who click on these types of pages was all the infomation on the topic on that single page.

Unlike other niches where users hate to see too much extra information (say, you just want to see a recipe, you don't want to know about the history of why

people eat eggs).

That being said, and I want you all to learn from this when you are doing your content on a good domain, since it wastes money to have to remake the content based on necessity.

Many content im remaking dont necessarily need to be re made from the later batches, but it helps as it can add fact checking and other such things into the final product (your post is the product if you only run ads).

If you can be proud of your post then you can share it all over the place, pinterest etc, and it will be valuable, but this is long term business ideology, if you as a reader are only interested in spamsite

quick cash then it is useless information.

Now with that regret in mind im gonna move on to the comments / questions.

This is true, sadly so much things on google work heavily from the eyes of backlinks, so starting things on fresh sub domain is slow af if you arent

trying to manipulate in some way, or carefully planning content going after the bottom of the barrel keywords.

If you have any interesting findings after testing, id love for you to share. (even knowing what doesnt work helps)

Yes, I can relate hard. However to a lesser extent ill still trust the domains information if I ran across it.

Often times the naming sense doesnt always match up with content quality.

Like id trust ice fishing blog posts from a domain called "icefishingmommy.c0m" or something stupid like that if the content is good.

however, the only people who would rebuy the domain is SEOs who just want to use it to back link/ 301, and the rare 0.001% of people who just happen

to be looking to make an ice fishing blog, and is a mother, and also doesnt hate that name.

Me and my partner always look at some of these domains selling, and know only SEOs are gonna buy them as nobody who wants a legit brand would (unless they are their own SEO, and are gonna 301 it the same way to get rid of the ugly name).

We make best on how low the price is gonna fall before some seo is willing to buy it based on backlinks alone.

Im pretty sure I have a post somewhere in here where I go into detail already, so look back if you want a better response.

yw

I just didnt everything, with the scale of AI I had no reason to leave any keyword out so down to keywords saying they have 1 volume a month, I put everything together and clustered in Lowfruits (explained in earlier posts).

I try to keep it simple in my head. Do you have a fishing blog? well then every possible question about fishing that you can find with volume should be covered.

Answering questions also ranks you for the non question search words. Like a giant keyword say, "ice fishing", if you have a blog post for a term. "what is ice fishing" or "how to do ice fishing" then you are capable

to possibly appear for the non question keywords aswell. All keywords are actually questions even though they dont all look like questions.

One of the only reasons 18,100 would type the words "ice fishing" into google is to learn what it is, or how to do it. So by answering every question in existence with volume in your niche, you will

have a blog post that can potentially rank for almost any term in your entire niche somewhere on your website. (excluding commercial keywords like "what is the best fishing rod for ice fishing" )

As I filter those out, since they will likely require an afflilate post and currently im not able to create good enough ones automatically.

yes, you just get in whatever tool you have and start going down the line, what, how, where, why, when, who etc etc etc etc until you have everything.

Sorry, if their was a good enough free alternative, everyone would be using it, or I wouldnt be using Ahrefs in the first place if their was one (those aholes and the action limits......... on a tool you pay 100 for a month............... I hope some new tool comes and rug pulls their whole business (not to wish bad on them but I just dont like the decisions in pricing and how they treat the paying customers)). The game is pay to play.

just use whatever you can afford as if you dont have the money to pay for a good tool, then you likely dont have the money to properly use the extra data.

Ahrefs KD is just really useful to me since it considers nothing else but backlinks, so it is good for looking at how much promotion (backlinks) is even needed to rank on certain serps

and ignoring things like the strength of the ranking websites. Like, some random 400 word business insider article might rank and make all other tools show

the keyword as high dificulty, but in reality, a DR 25 site could easily beat a shitty 400 word article that has no backlinks, from a massive website.

If you have like a dr/da 40-50 ish website then just about any keyword that shows low kd on ahrefs is near insta rank 1 for you with a good article.

I have an ubersuggest account for fooling around on (pervents wasing ahrefs clicks) and for the most part it can give you the lists of keywords you would need.

and be able to export them. If you are not article blasting thousands (which is dangerous depending on the website), you will never use them all, so it doesnt really matter too much.

I dont think it is particularly unique (im not the first) but it is effective.

Depending on topic size, covering a single niche topic alone is enough to feed your family. Like imagine a website like succulentsandsunshine, they cover one single sub section

of the whole niche "gardening" and just perfecting that section and monetization alone is more money that many people who just have broad gardening websites will ever make.

I think 3 or so years ago, the owner had done an interview with income school or something to talk about how much they were making, idk if that video is still up but the website itself

is still going.

The beauty of just doing the full topic, is that you will cover not only the long tail, but all the bigger keywords too.

So by the end of your campaign in a topic, you will have written on every single long tail that was worth writing on since you wrote everything in the first place.

Their will be no "maybe I should have done an article on this" or "I need to go back and do an article on this thing"

because it will all be done (except for "best " affiliate posts).

just an example in ubersuggest (no affliliation with these tools, and not an endorsement)

View attachment 261705

View attachment 261706

Then just create an article for everything that needs its own article (some keywords will obviously be repeats or mean the same thing, this is why you cluster to remove them).

You also will need to use common sense and google sheets to reword some keywords, like I got "how to ice fishing" because I did not specifically put "ice fish" as one of the 3 terms ubersuggest allows, but

commons sense would tell you that the real keyword people are searching is "how to ice fish"

if you dont catch these, gpt can correct them to make more sense, and you can correct them at scale in google sheets with a gpt extension.

View attachment 261709

This is not the prompt I use btw, it is just for example, so play around with your prompts before doing anything at scale because otherwise gpt might

end up generating a ton of garbage because it didnt properly understand your intentions.

To maximize profit, if you have a team, then as you start ranking keywords, you should have someone go back and add afflilate links to relevant posts.

Like a post on "how to dress for ice fishing" would be wasted potential without some affiliate links.

If you already created your gear guides then you can link your "best" posts directly from that article.

Like "best blah blah blah, tools for breaking / cutting the ice/ staying warm/ safety/ etc etc.
Thank you so much for your detail reply, much appreciated

Forgot to update passing 2700

doesnt matter too much but ever 100 counts towards 5 k a month.

estimated will pass 2900 in 2-3 days, and 3000 in 6-8 days

So we will reach 60% progress soon even though it is off season.

im looking at the daily trend making the predictions so it already accounts for the depressed growth.

I know it's impossible, Still with a small hope! Can you show me or guide me step by step how you do everything? So, i can be a rich like you! ✌️✌️

Thanks for frequently posting updates. Looking forward to the next one.
You are welcome, thanks for following along

Nope, with that mentality, it is surely impossible as you say.

At least in the country im in, $2800 a month is still relatively poor, and not worth asperation or consideration to be called "rich".

No one is going to be hand holding people step by step, you have all the information ive shared in the 30 pages, and countless youtube videos with better information than id

be able to give here. Search for the answers, not for someone to hand you the answers.

631 posts, half of it was written by me. And the rest is AI and some edited. I started to add AI articles because Jaordas's site was purely human written then he started to add AI and saw great results. I followed him and I am seeing good results too.
Stuff like this makes me feel so happy to read. I think about ending the journey sometimes but its things like this that make me feel like I should just keep following through.

Not everyone will publicly say it, but I hope some people are given the chance to change their life. We are all in it together, im not saying their is no risk, but people who dont take risks never win.

I always stand by the statement ive made multiple times aswell that you dont need to pump out thousands to get good results, if you pick good articles, and give each one great love

in relation to their competition then you can grow at similar rates.

The top 1000 articles on my site out of 30000 bring in the majourity of the money. I could have been equally successful if I had just scouted them out. Or even better off had I picked greatly. I made a post

a while back voicing my regrets of the early mass publishing wasting some keywords as those 600 word articles wont rank for it, even though had I dont it manual + hand, I could rank such keywords quickly with 2500 word articles.

Im hoping for those of you that have the time, to remember this fact, so even though you see these massive articles published numbers, remember most of them dont get traffic, they might rank on page 2-3 etc.

The saving grace however is that updating them does get them to be reconsidered even if they originally failed to rank with just 600 words, so they arent completely lost to the wind, but the

tokens to create them orginally are lost.

All the best my friend!!!

I know I sound like a broken record but right now you are at earnings around my jan - feb with similar epmvs (higher but you get the point)

I can only imagine the growth if you stay consistent !

1686766575586.png

As long as you work on improving traffic, and ad servability etc, your will grow epmv and visits great.

I dont know what number you aim for but I hope you reach it.

You are at similar starting point to me (but idk your domain power so we might not have the same growth curve over time, stronger domain grow faster).

Update:

We crossed Trailing 2900 as expected.

eventually a single week will earn more than the whole month of march

Wow, those are some impressive numbers.
$20 EPMV is just awesome. And you don't believe it but my goal is $5000, seriously. I am way off but I have vowed to be consistent and make the project as solid as possible. That's why I am not going bonker with the posts. Besides, my domain is relatively new, it's about 9 months old, it was a new domain that I had registered to start this project.

Epmv and drop off a bit but I am looking into it. But how did you manage to shoot up your epmv so high in such a short time?

Great journey dude I'm inspired! What is your hosting set up? Sorry if its already been asked.

another question, how much content do you upload to a single site daily/weekly, do you have any concerns / reservations about the amount you post?

Last edited:
How much money have you spent thus far when it comes to the tokens? And what is the average length of the articles?

As you said that, you are using gpt-3.5-turbo API to generate contents.
Do we need to crate own writing tool with the API for writing contents? How to do that?

I can beleive it, I dont blame you if your goals are even higher, ideally id like this website to reach 10 k a month but I set 5 k because I also wanted a number closer to hit so I could re evaluate if I wanted to continue to share after that.
Like, im not gonna just sleep on the site after it hits my goal. That is actually gonna be my real starting point for it in a way.

Domain age is not the most on your side but you will still see good growth if you handle it well.

I discussed epmv optimization on this before but ill try to just quickly bullet point it, it isnt magic or anything, it is just technical.

1. enable all ad types, all testing, all traffic towards ezoic, all focus on revenue. Trust me, no matter if you hate the user experience, the increase in epmv can pay off way more than how much an increase in bounce rate can hurt you. Especially enable expanded articles ads. Lots of people let their pride on how their website is operating get in the face of the earnings, even though most users are already ad blind.
2. activate software to send messages to people using ad block. They are worthless users to you if they are blockings ads so do you care if you annoy them a little. You are providing your product for free already. (adsense has a built in one, dont ask me specifics)
3. Increase all your top article lenghts to minimum 2500-3000 words, you already have figured out how to get people in the door, now you must meet them where they are and increase the ammount of ads you can server them. longer page, more ads.
4. center your content on the screen so you have 2 sides for floating ads.
5. ad floating sidebar widget ad, and add your own things in your side in order to promote things etc and give eat etc.
6. use humix, all your top posts must have their own video, and delete all youtube videos from posts that you already have your own video on
7. removed massive featured image from the top of the article, it increases above the fold area for ads, and increases ad worth. Most people saw the featured image in serp or from whatever link they clicked, they dont care. or they didnt even click to see an image they didnt know existed. I always put my featured images like halfway or at the bottom and it shows when you do it on pages with big visits and analyse epmv.

their is more, like with words in your headings etc but im low on time so im gonna move on from this for a bit, I might come back to it later.
good luck op! following this one!
Thanks !!!!

Thanks !!!!

about content, I currently am not doing much, like not even 100 a month, If you follow the journey you would know I published in massive batches then just drip feed after in order for site to still look alive.

Like 4000 in a single day. I do not recommend this, while my site was powerful enough to handle this, many people site die when they try it this way.

I am not discussing hosting here anymore, been asked the question too much times and I dont even have a good answer, use search function.
My apologies. I found the answer already.
No problem, thank you for searching, their isnt 26 pages for nothing lol. But if you have questions not answered 100 times before then feel free to ask so I have a reason to continue this.
Great work following! Will try myself to do it
GOOD LUCK!!! remember to take it slow if your site is weak.

am, honestly im not really open to giving this whole thing as I said before, but all I am gonna say is you can litterally ask chat gpt to teach you how to do the specific things you want to do.

if you want specifics you have a better chance asking this guy

but google doesnt seem especially picky to me, ive seen so much 100% ai sites by now

if you want to make your own tool, then know what you want, and ask spefically how to get it done in steps to the bots etc, they will litterally teach you how to make and host

something to collect inputs and send them back for changes, add youtube videos, operate a macro, bulk upload, wp sheets editor etc etc.

right now with content being soo cheap, the way content is made is one of the only edges much of us have so please understand why many people arent gonna just hand it out.

but I just say it is a weak edge because a kid with time on their hands could get ai to teach them it, and even give them code, github etc.
