Reddit Ban Evasion Filter / Tool - How to avoid it

As some of you know Reddit introduced "Ban Evasion Filter" one year ago. This tool was used by only a few specific plot subreddits at first. Now Reddit announced that this Filter/tool will be available to all subreddits.

For those who don't know what this tool is; It detecets banned users' alt accounts and then flags them as "suspected ban evader" to subreddits' mods. Most of the mods ban the user without further questioning if the bot was accurate or not. That tool doesn't tell what was the ban reason or link the previous banned account. So mods have only two choice here; trust the tool or not.

In this thread we'll discuss how does that bot detect us and how to bypass it as admins don't tell which information that tool uses.

I've been flagged as suspicious and got banned numerous times by that tool. So let me share my own experience.
At first I didn't take that tool seriously and thought I could evade it easily. So I created new accounts from different browser quickly but they all got banned. Then I tried tor browser a few times. Those accounts got suspended site-wide as well. And I've attempted a few times more, they all got banned.

Lastly I wanted to guarantee my work and I went full serious.
I changed my ISP to change my IP and got a new laptop. Changed my timezone etc. So I thought I was unique. But nope, I got banned again.

At this point I gave up and haven't tried since as I had no idea how that tool detected me. Mods didn't respond my ban appeal messages as well.

AFAIK that tool also flags users that use a VPN.

I'm sure that tool will be a big problem for those who want to evade subreddit bans. So I'm creating this thread to discuss about that tool and how to avoid it.

P.s. That tool has levels. For example mods can set that bot to "flag users that are banned in last 1 year" or "flag users that are banned in recent weeks". It halso has confidence levels. If you set it to low confidence, it flags people that aren't too sure about. If you set it to high confidence it flags people that "sure" about.

I've never tried it with a proxy or anti-detect browser. My next step will be these two.

Use static residential proxies with zero fraud score.

You can also go with 4G/5G proxies if you want to.

Go with reputable sellers here on BHW and check with whoer.net ipqualityscore, etc. before using it.

Also check if there is any webrtc leak or not.

Can you recommend me a one? What if I use a paid VPN istead of static residential proxy? Is proxy better?

Static residential proxies are better in my opinion. VPN is damn easy to spot but it gets difficult for sites if you use a good proxy with anti-detect browsers. Reddit can obviously catch you if somehow you are leaking your original IP like Webrtc leak. As for Proxy recommendations, I am sorry I cannot recommend one because of forum rules.

- don't use VPN, use only proxies, IPV4, residential, get them from good sellers
- use antidetect browsers, like adspower or dolphin
- set up your account (only one per proxy) on the proxy, while using the antidetect browser
- start posting and commenting, but only after a few days
- use a different posting or commenting strategy from your other accounts; for instance, if you posted long texts, post short texts now; act like an entirely different person; this is because the new ban tool uses machine learning to detect similar posting and commenting styles;

1- They aren't banning people because they use VPN's. Millions of people use VPN's.

2- Antidetect browsers are overrated and your browser footprint doesn't say nearly as much about you as you may think. It's pretty generic information shared across millions and millions of people.

One good tip to avoid being detected based on your browser information is to leave it as plain as possible. Don't install plugins, don't change fonts, don't mess around with the browser in any way.

It’s weird because I keep getting banned from the same subreddits and I keep buying new accounts to avoid the ban and not one account got banned completely. But I’ve seen my posts get automatically removed for no reason given.

I got banned from a specific sub that I frequent. I literally went out and bought a used phone, opened a new phone plan for it, created a new email on the phone and a new account on the phone, all with 4G data, never connecting to my local wifi network.

Account immediately gets shadowbanned in the sub and all the comments show as "removed" when viewing from incognito.

I'm so bamboozled. I don't understand how they're able to get SO accurate.

Its the same model phone and I also used T-Mobile but don't I still get a unique device ID and IP address?

If you encounter suspension and create new accounts, Try to grow your accounts organically a bit and let your new accounts age at least 2 weeks prior to posting is my advice.

My first thought was also an anti spam filter, but I went and I commented in a different sub (AFTER all the comments I made before). First comment popped up just fine.

Maybe its a sub specific setting for the spam filter? I'm not sure how it works.

If this is the ban filter catching me, that thing works like magic.

You don't have to wait 2 weeks. Let me explain:

1. Subreddits have different requirements for posting and commenting. The requirements are based on 3 factors: age, comment, and post karma. For posting some subreddits have really high requirements (for example 1000 post and 200 comment karma and 3 months aged account) but some have really low. How to find out what kind of requirements a subreddit has. Build a script that will check the last 30 post authors of that subreddit and check their post and comment karma and of course the age of the accounts. Then you take the smallest amount of which and you just got the minimum requirements for the subreddit. Now if you're really unresourceful and honestly dumb you can do this by hand (or just ask gpt to write you the script).
2. Each subreddit has an integrated spambot detector which lets you post if your spam score is low. What is spam score? Each account has a spam score that they get based on their actions. If you post normally get karma and your posts are not deleted the spam score is going to stay low. If all of a sudden you get banned from 10 subreddits at once or you get a ton of downvotes your spam score i going to jump high. The spambot has 3 levels: low, medium and high. High is basically broken and won't let anyone with a really established account post. Low will pretty much let everyone post but the guys that are spamming a lot. Most of the subreddits have their bot set to medium, which means it's still quite hard to post. If you post your first post from an account there chances are it's not going through.

TLDR: Post in smaller subreddits first

Well if you use reddit to promote in nsfw subreddits, you might need to wait a bit more than usual before posting. It might be because some of those subreddits are highly targeted by spammers, but I'Ve had newish accounts shadowbanned for simply posting to nsfw subreddit using a script and reddit's API, normally you would expect just that post to not be shown in the subreddit. Their anti spam algorithm triggers way too fast for new accounts, that could result in a lot of unfair suspensions.
