Review of Geonode.com Beta Test of Residential Proxies
@geonodecom posted an offer for a free beta test of their residential proxies
here. I was contacted and given 5GB of data to test the service. On logging in, the data plan assigned was the Pay As You Go residential proxies plan. The website was clean and professional and I had no difficulty navigating my way though to access the proxies. I was able to generate proxy lists based on whether I wanted sticky proxies or rotating residential proxies. Also available was country and city level targeting. I could generate the proxies in just about any format I wanted. Proxies could also either be http or socks5 proxies.
On actual use, I found the proxies to be decently fast for residential proxies. Dropped or failed connections were very few. The website had a useful "Request Analytics" Table which updates in real time, displaying what specific site was being accessed, connection success or failure, bandwidth consumed, average latency, success rate and proxy country. I found this very useful to track and identify actual destinations and their consumptions. Repeat accesses to specific destinations do not appear as fresh entries on this table, only the attibutes are updated to reflect a repeat connection. I would personally like to see repeat connections as fresh entries. Other than that the experience was great.
I did not actually test if the proxy location targeting was correct, however, I did not notice anything amiss while using the proxies as per the location they were supposed to be coming from. They worked well to my satisfaction.
In summary, I would say the service works well and can be recommended.
