is dropshipping dead? i want to start a new dropshipping store selling distressed ski masks because its trendy rn, but alot of people are telling me that dropshipping is dead and that i should do something else. what should i do

It's not dead. It depends on how you find winning products and your fulfillments

Its working well . I saw many people making a big money per month .
Just start and get the result mate .

Like In every other business: some make it some fail. Even if it's saturated you can still find a gem that will sell good.

Dropshipping may not be dead but I feel it has become more difficult to promote your dropshipping shops the seo way. Just type in a product keyword in Google and you now will see mostly product images from big names showing on top following more big names like Amazon, etsy etc. You almost won't see any dropshipping shops listed on the first serp page on the first page anymore in most cases. How are you going to promote your shop and your products? It may be a slightly different story if you're thinking about investing thousands in ads. I don't know, I am trying hard to find out myself too.

That's wonderful!! Do you sell through your own online shop or platforms like Amazon ebay etc?

Dropshipping has paid the bills for the last 3 years - my other businesses are pure profit.

Why do you say that dropshipping will die in 2023? I am currently running ads for 10 dropshipping websites of various niches, serving both myself and my customers.

Well that's great. I'm glad to hear that there are people making money dropshipping. Good for you buddy!! Thanks for sharing - that gives me hope. We do get sales daily too but we are still far away from reaching out goal. One of our main competitors who basically dominate our niche and used to get a few thousand visitors every day just got their organic traffic dropped to 0 according to semrush, the sharp decline started in March right after googles core update. Also, if you do a search now on Google, just key in a random general product name, you will see google shopping ads, and a whole bunch of product images from big brands like Amazon ebay etc, followed by again links to big websites, Amazon ebay etsy etc. You almost won't see any dropshipping shops on the first page. That's why I asked if you're selling though those big platforms because I bet those who dropship there should see increase in sales. But for independent online shops like us, dropshipping or not, I see it as a very difficult challenge. I have been doing very little seo myself except for buying links in the past few years and I decided I have to do it on my own now. Hopefully it's not too late. Do backlinks still matter, by the way?

Everything is dead for the lazy a$$es. I just started my dropshipping journey a few days ago, because I've a plan on how to make it successful.
Hey JasonS, is your plan more like dropshipping + seo or dropshipping + ads?

Dropshipping + SEO + social media initially at the start. After generating some profits, then will throw that profit into ads as well.
