is dropshipping dead in 2023?

Dropshipping + SEO + social media initially at the start. After generating some profits, then will throw that profit into ads as well.
Cool. Sorry for asking such silly question: when you key in a general product name in Google on mobile phone, they're showing shopping ads, then quite a lot of product images, then followed by links - all from big names like Amazon, ebay etc. You can no longer see dropshipping shops listed as the first 10 perhaps 20 items. I just bought semrush last night (thanks for your advice from another thread) and found that one of my competitors, a dropshipping shop, had their organic traffic dropped from 80940 to 243 since 11/22, and another one dropped from 30339 to 150 since January. Does it look like it has to do with googles update? Or the way Google is showing it's serp now?

Dropshipping might never be dead. It's in existence since hundreds of years. The method of doing dropshipping changes every few years. It was physical dropshipping several years ago (pre-internet era), then it was through traditional websites and then it was through ecommerce websites (shopify, woocommerce and all). Hope you got my point

It's just a fulfillment method, not dead. What's dead is what it's commonly associated with, stealing aliexpress pictures and marking up the price by 10x and thinking you'll make a profit. Needs a whole lot more work, where the method of fulfillment is just 1 tiny aspect

Success in dropshipping depends on factors such as product selection, pricing strategy, marketing efforts, and customer service. So, while dropshipping may not be dead in 2023, it will likely continue to require dedication, hard work, and innovation to succeed.

Nah.. I still make money from dropshipping.. in 2023..
dropshopping isnt dead..

Dropshipping has been bringing me 7–10k per month for the past 3 years. Amazing business, but very hard if you don't learn every freaking detail.

Better question will be the source of traffic for dropshiping to be profitable but dropshiping is not dead for sure

Believe it or not, that's the easy part.

It's all about the budget today. You spend money on ads, keep them break even, or even burn some money. But you build an email list that will convert for years.

Why would a customer buy something from a store that will deliver in 1 month when he can order from a store that can deliver in 3 days? If you don't have returning buyers you won't be profitable and you won't have returning buyers unless you can deliver fast. Dropshipping IS dead.

Honestly the people saying it's not dead and it makes them money are the ones who are really good at this game from before. I tried it like 2 years ago. Found a winning product and was starting to see profit and it was starting to go better, but then guess what happens? Facebook bans my ad account cause they got too much bad feedback from customers. Since i shipped from China the shipping time was like a month so people left bad reviews after.
Note that i did actually buy products to have in the USA warehouse, but guess what? They banned my Facebook ad account around the same time i did that. I ended up loosing money.

Facebook ad accounts getting banned isn't anything new, even the professional people experience this.
Sure there are other advertisement methods etc, but imo you have to have a good idea what you doing to be able to compete this oversaturated market with people who are already damn good at what they do.
There is a reason all these "gurus" on youtube try selling you a course on how to dropship. If they so sucesful they wouldn't need to be upselling you some bs course.
At the end of the day sure it comes down to how much you willing to learn and try and fail. But for me it isn't worth the stress.

It's not dead but it's an overcrowded niche. You must specialize to stand out and earn a good profit from your sales. I recommend you bet a lot on ads, contact quality and a good image in front of potential buyers. Dropshipping is not dead, it's just that the bigger the market, the more difficult it is to enter. Although today it is a quite profitable market.

Well, if you're going into dropshipping, it's always better to find suppliers in the country where you want to deliver the products, then you've solved the no 1 problem with dropshipping

Why do you say that dropshipping will die in 2023? I am currently running ads for 10 dropshipping websites of various niches, serving both myself and my customers.
don't you have competition? Google doesn't rank random shops easly

Dropshipping is the smart business in the online platform. If you want to start your dropsipping business you must need to start Shopify business as well. Because this is popular in the world wide.

dropshipping, is basicly just reselling stuff with increased margin, it will never die, just change to be more efficient.
example with dropshipping you don't need to have our own stock.
