Let's say you aim for a keyword to rank in the top 3. What is your main method? I have a website about tarot and spirituality, but the most volume comes from tarot card meanings (all of the 78 cards), but the issue is all of the top 3 sites are authoritative and I cant outrank them. I am sure that my content is way better than these websites.

I will send an email to request the collaboration from the source websites of the backlinks. And, I will try my best to get more backlinks through any other methods except the guest post, such as the submission, directories, local citation, etc.

You can outrank them. Some patience and good number of links are required.

If you are writing on something that has high authority websites on top, it will be too difficult to outrank them even if you have great content. You can only make good backlinks but I am sure the websites ranking above are also doing the same. So, you can just try to remain in the top 10.
