Hide PBN with different IPs but ISP is the same...sounds wrong :^{

Hi - I'm building a PBN and my host offers 3 free IPs with the hosting package.

I added a new website to the host (I only have 1 other website with this host) and I got a different IP. So 2 websites, 2 IPs.

The ISP for both is the hosting company.

But this doesn't fool Google correct?

I was going to have 4 different sites with this host but I'm rethinking that.

Advice? Thoughts?

Ideally, you want more diversity, yes. Also, it's highly unlikely you got them from unique subnets as well.

If you want to link to the same site from those 4 websites, then it might not be the best idea as it can create a footprint.

I'm curious, what about sites that are behind cloudflare - - almost all of them fall into similar IP ranges (all cloudflare).

Cloudflare sure can help, but it will be suspicious if you have many sites like this. Also, what we have seen from our statistics is that sites/domains on shared IP addresses + Cloudflare will not live that long like a network of domains that use more natural DNS/IP address profiles.

But there's a "but" in that info. The "but" means that people who don't put much effort into picking domains and don't put effort into their websites often use shared IP addresses and Cloudflare, and that results in a lower quality PBN that really doesn't offer much boost at all. This also results in them dumping their domains after a year and wasting effort/money. We always recommend going quality over quantity.

why not use a 3rd party hosting sites? i mean for 50 bucks they provide you with 10 different hosting, easy domain pointing, easy to manage, you can look it up in google tho..

i used those in my pbn managing 40 domains

As long as your IP are different class C or better you will be safe. It's impossible to detect the provider since most of the providers buy and resell these IP addresses constantly from multiple vendors.

Cloudflare could be a footprint by itself. If you have many PBN pointing all coming from CF it will be almost the same as hosting all in the same server as cloudflare doesn't represent a huge % on the whole ip addresses (a good quantity but not too much)

Yes - all the IPs are from the host (not Hostgator but a shared hosting like that)

yea if its in different subnets it doesnt matter (even better in different class B or even A). i have a server with 30 IPs and the ISP gave me completely random IPs with different class ABC. thats not common though and lately they cant do that anymore, but i've had it for over 10 years.

anyways its not impossible to detect the provider, you just need to do a "whois" lookup on the IP and will see the ISP.
i.e. for blackhatworld.com:

so in this case you only see cloudflare as its hiding behind that, but on sites without cloudflare you can see the ISP.
as soon as the owner of the netblock changes, this info will be updated too.

I'm hosting like 20-25 PBNs per hosting account....use cloudflare and delete the records that can be seen as a footprint. No issues in 8 years.

I just signed up for CloudFlare - hoping it's a good solution. I'm using the same host but I've added a different IP for a site in the hosting.

So...
CloudFlare >> Different IP on same host as money site (different A and C records) >> bad idea?
