Backlinks from Instapaper - Do links on Instapaper link back?? see example

Just trying to establish if links in Instapaper link back to the linked page/site - using 'inspect' the html does not show rel ='nofollow' however there is code within the html which is contained within a span class="host"... does this prevent linking out via a jscript? If so then Instapaper is of no value for backlinks right?

Instapaper pages are indexable and the links are do-follow. The <span> class is merely for CSS styling. I see a lot of users using these pages to help index other backlinks.
