I believe chatgpt will kill google eventually, but the question is: will chatgpt kill google first or google kill those webmasters using chatgpt first? My English is poor so I never thought of writing a blog. After tried chatgpt, I think I need to do something. What is your opinion?

G will find a way, and BHW peeps will find a way around it and sell as a method :D

Geeez will do it again.

This was always the case, and if you as long as you can use the brain matter, There will always be a way!

Google has basically said that they are ok with AI content at the moment, but that their quality requirements still apply.

Honestly, for some niches, ChatGPT content is getting surprisingly good.

It definitely does hallucinate though, and it does need fact-checked.

I don't think ChatGPT will kill Google. Google will be Google and ChatGPT is a nice tool to get information on all kinds of topics and then use this information for different purposes.

I think the concern will be more Google working out a way to incorporate AI in search and still keep ad revenue. Some search terms have the potential to become obsolete because Google will answer the question itself. No links to websites just an AI generated answer

Both of them could co-exist as well
For medical advice, you can't trust chat gpt over Google

Both will kill us by making us keep overthinking about these kinds of new launches often.

your prompts must be detailed when you want good output, I not think that google likes it when your website content is full with this structure on every post:

example: my longtail keyword strategy

short introducton...
then;

1. why is longtail keyword important..
2. long tail keywords finder
3. long tail keywords benefits

etc,etc,etc....chatgpt often, most times writes articles in this structure.
When your website is full with that it not will look natural.

No experienced writer in the world does writing in this style only I would say. You can use this structure on long form content - yes.
But not for news, educational whatsoever.
When you have a google news site, do you writing news with this structure- I bet not.

And why you like analyse big sites (like me) cnn, new york times or bloomberg, do you see that their news or articles have this structure?
So yes I like chatgpt it is a big help today, but your prompts must be detailed.

I'm confused by your question.

Are you talking about Chat GPT-generated content tricking Google, or are you talking about Chat GPT, the platform, beating Google?

As it stands now, Chat GPT has the upper hand because its gone from close to zero traffic to a hundred million people using it on a sustained, long-term basis.

That is one hell of a growth rate considering that this all took place in a very short period of time.

But the big challenge here is whether enough people will use Chat GPT so that their expectations of search engines is transformed forever.

What do I mean by this?

Well right now, when people search on Google, they're expecting a list.

They expect to do the heavy lifting of clicking one link after the other, comparing and contrasting the information they find until they come up with what they think is the answer.

Long story short, the customer is the one getting bits and pieces of information from different sources on the internet and putting it all together in their head.

The job of Google is to simply facilitate this data compilation.

While Chat GPT gets rid of all of that because it gives you the impression that once you type in the question and you get an answer on Chat GPT that this is the single answer.

There's no need for you to look for other sources.

There's no need for you to copy and paste and cross-compare and slice and dice all that info.

You can say goodbye to all of that.

The problem with this is that while Chat GPT does provide good answers, it may not be reliable.

You're not getting the full picture.

That's why Google's current model that allows people to look at many different sources makes for a better-informed search experience.

The problem is most people are too busy.

Most people cannot be bothered to go through that process.

They're looking for one answer.

And once you train enough people to think like that, very few people will go back to Google.

They don't want to go back to the bad old days of actually doing all the work and thinking.

This actually freezes out online publishers because their content got scraped.

But they're not getting clicks.

They're not getting visitors.

So when they go out of business, the date dries up.

Do you see where I'm coming from?

And this actually makes search in the future very capital intensive because only the big corporations with dedicated data sets who can get into special agreements with Bing or Google get to play because they supply the data that they sourced and can guarantee is more reliable and dependable in exchange for a percentage of the ad revenues from that one single answer that those search engines present.

I think that is the future.

Of course, there are maybe short-term developments that may derail that long-term progression, but that is, ultimately, the trajectory of search and it is quite scary for independent publishers like the people on this forum.

No one is going to kill anyone Google is big enough to handle market competition.
google kill those webmasters using chatgpt
Not all webmasters but those who generate unoptimized, unorganized content will have trouble for sure in some future update.

It's far from perfect, it will definitely be integrated into popular apps though

Don't overthink just make content with chatgpt and post on your site and you will see they rank.
