AI Article Penalty Speed Run Case study 4000 posts

My main money site got the snipped ban, I can't think why, and not sure how to get them back. I am sure you will pick up more traffic as those articles start ranking, some can take up to a year.
How long has it had its snippet ban?
Ever returned or are you just like me.
Even I cant think of why for myself because my site was white hat, had some years on it, etc etc. Last I read someone said google still doesn't even recognize this is a thing so it makes me worry about if it will ever get fixed at all. Thanks for the motivation.

The site lost 50 percent of the traffic during May 2020 update, there was a big thread on bhw many sites were hit. Lost the featured snippet since never managed to get them back. The site is completely white hat, and even has links from big sites DA90+, it has recovered 20 percent of the traffic since. Just gotta post more and get it back where it was.

I me, does it now able to get snippets or is all its articles still only going to get traffic from places that arent position 0.
Have you ever heard anyone mention if they made any changes to their site that could have earned them their snippets back?

I will soon recover the lost traffic but its just not the same, as without being able to earn snippets the site will be having half the traffic it could potentially have. Maybe I shouldn't complain because chances are the featured snippet spot will be replaced with AI.

Do you think if I move my website to a new domain I might be able to get rid of the ban? google doesn't even admit it is a real thing.
Do you think if I use blogger.com to publish AI, results will be different?
Im not too familiar with blogger but I don't see why AI content wouldn't work on it. But id assume you will have less control over it and less tools you can integrate with it compared to word press.

Today is new highest day (in months, not all time for website)

Yesterday was my highest sunday in months. I hope that big increase carries on because frankly these last too days have been the highest gain over the baseline.

71% more traffic than last month

The fact that today isnt even over and its already my highest day is exciting. I do see that a few ai articles what werent giving traffic before are reaching ranking now so they are collectively giving this increase. I will continue to update the best performing ones.

I have not seen a single day traffic like this since 2021 (assuming this continues and is a new traffic level and not just a short term spike)

Imagine if my website wasnt snippet banned lol

A friend of mine who has AI websites, and practically one of the people who made me start this keeps telling me to go bigger.
However im not sure if I should, as unlike him, im only using one site for case study, id perfer for the site not to be too big and easily noticeable (but at this point does it even make sense for me to say this when I already blasted thousands of posts on it?)

What amount of posts on a website would you think should be where you should stop with AI? Im currently at 10 K posts on the website and they haven't even had a month to rank yet I can see the increase.
Sure google could slapify me next month or whatever but I do wonder if I should keep going full pump and dump mode like my friend or just stop now and focus on making sure the "image" of the website isn't something that looks spammy, rewrite high performing articles, etc etc.

The website name is not something niche locked so technically I could branch out into other keywords.

Should I stop here or get more greedy?

What is the most posts you have ever seen on a Wordpress website?

Also, just for anyone who wants to know, historically over all the years my top 10 posts ( written by me) make up 41.4% of the traffic.
1678156292018.png

In the recent week those top 10 only make up 24.4% of the traffic

Just to say a large part of traffic in recent days is from newer posts

I never got the snippets back tried everything possible lol. I have heard some sites getting their snippets back in a core update. Looking good, traffic is increasing.

That's interesting. Is the 46% posts ranking are the ones which were AI and then rewritten them after they ranked better than others or are the 46% all the posts even before AI content. And if so what is the percentage of the rewritten AI content within the 46%?

Have you noticed any lost or lower rankings of rewritten AI articles after rewriting?
I've lost some positions after I rewrote a few about a week a go.

Sorry man, it sucks. I think if this site reaches 1 mil page views a month (that's a real stretch but hey, maybe I might reach there) then I'm going to 301 redirect it and rebrand it and see if that fixes the lack of snippets, I feel like I wanted to redesign the site for a long time so it gives me an excuse to check if the ban is on the domain level, some things don't pass via 301, or else you could literally 301 the snippet ban to everyone else in your niche lol).

I don't think you understand, the 46% are purely human and written by me years ago, I'm just using them as a measure of traffic from when the site was fully white hat vs how it is now with all the AI articles.
Since most traffic to a website goes to the 10 biggest posts its just to say compared to before the AI, the human written old part of the site is becoming smaller in comparison as the AI articles are starting to rank and bring in traffic. I have 10 k AI articles, so the smaller that old part of the website gets, is showing that the AI is bringing in more traffic.
My old articles have massive seasonality so rises and falls in the site can just be seasons, so in order to understand if its really the AI articles brining in the traffic I'm just providing alternative views.

However just for your curiosity, the minimum pageviews a month an article needs to be in the top 10 is 1400
So the moment any AI article over takes one of my 10 best human articles, I will let you know.

Currently the strongest AI article (re written to human already) is at 337 page views
Given, it hasn't existed for over a month yet, and for part of the time it wasn't even ranked at the top of its search yet.
Also for some reason many of my AI articles do not rank for their related terms which when they start ranking for them, that will also bring in traffic.

(like an article titled "how to grow watermelon " not ranking for "how to plant watermelon" even though google knows they mean the same thing, but google ranks you slower for non exact match searches in my experience.
Have you noticed any lost or lower rankings of rewritten AI articles after rewriting?
I've lost some positions after I rewrote a few about a week a go.

Yes but that's completely normal to me, even rewriting human content over my years of white hat its not uncommon for rank to fall a little, especially if you keep updating the published date.
However I rarely if ever experience long hard drops.
All AI articles ive re rewritten so far have been a mix of not dropping, dropping by like 2-3 spots then returning to max if not even higher, or in a few cases they dropped down to like 20-30 and then in 3 days were back up to number one spot. I am not trying to worry too much about these movements since ive seen all this stuff even with human content.

Also keep in mind last few days have had a lot of serp movements.

Not being able to get featured snippets on your website it really depressing, I'm reaching near traffic level before my site got site wide traffic ban but its so painful that I'm ranking "first" on so much of my main keywords but because the enter site got snippet ban (no idea why cus it was a fully white hat site at the time it got banned and never got them back).

I cant help but hope to get snippets back because it made up a chunk of my traffic. I feel like many of the articles need to work much harder just to get their traffic meanwhile sites that literally don't answer search intent are getting the clicks just cus they have the snippet.

I keep searching for answers on how to get my snippets back but I'm finding nothing. I see a lot of people got theirs back last year a while after the update that killed mine but mine never returned.

Now I'm using the site for this case study I just really wish they would come back.

Sucks, cus its like no matter what I'm doing, the site is just going to be half the size its supposed to be.

Ive probably asked this a few times before but if anyone has any info on how to get my site to have snippets again please let me know.
How do you check if your site is snippet banned?

What plugin for interlinking can you recommend?

Trust me, you will know, because you will unable to get any snippets and all snippets you ever had would instantly go away. You can use a free search on semrush and here it will show you the entire site has no snippets.

Keep in mind google denies this is real when it cleary is and many people have been affected.

New highest day clocked in, in fact it seems like soon ill be having the highest day ever recorded on the website.

1678255930023.png

Around 5500 is the record for a single day pageviews.

Also, funny thing, this post was in position 3, but was getting traffic so it was next on my list for updating to human written.

I made it human written and changed the url (dumb me but I wasnt thinking, and I changed it because it was too long, normally posts take a while to rank so changing url and adding redirect a few days after publish isnt an issue.

However even with the redirect, for some reason google choose to instantly rank me number 1 after I updated and listed the new and old url on the same site in the serp together taking up like 2 spaces of the serp.

Given both links redirect to the one article.
1678256324948.png

Just wanted to make a joke about being an SEO god, able to take up multiple spaces on the serp with a single edit.

That being said im hoping google realizes its a redirect and the same exact page and fixes this itself since I already set things on my side.
ctr was 84% with it like this in number one spot tho lol.

I don't know whose site this is...
But a clear indication that auto content was made and this content was well liked by google at first and there were 150K keywords, but then google abruptly cut off 110K as it seems to me that very fast articles were loaded, all articles are similar with 1 picture or no picture and all 2500 articles have only РAA.

What do you think? The site is selling for 74,300

Since the site's traffic has decreased, it appears that they are attempting to sell it. Where is the site listed for sale?

The fact it was up for so long is interesting. However I just checked the site and it appears to have a featured snippet ban like mine, which is probably why it had such a massive traffic drop as it was PAA site. I wonder how much the dude was making before google slapped him. If you don't mind, can you show us where it is selling?

My site is slightly different in that the featured snippet lose doesn't fully kill it but that's such a sight to see.

Well, its likey some other algo hit also killed it hard besides just losing all featured snippets.

What is PAA?
People also Ask, basically snippet searches you could optimize more

google really said "no"
A bit more off topic here, but this site has an exact copy online.
What is the copy called? is it word for word articles or just the ideas?
