I've built a streaming website mainly for indie underground artists where they can upload their own music, similar to Soundcloud and Audiomack. I started working on this website in 2013 and have even created two apps. The user interface and design are impressive, and I'm not just saying that because it's my website. However, the website isn't generating much revenue, and I'm only earning $2 or $4 through Adsense due to low traffic. During the pandemic, I was able to make thousands of dollars because major artists couldn't perform and used my website for promotion. However, when the pandemic was over they no longer needed me and of course traffic dropped. Getting artist to pay a subscription fee wouldn't make sense even though my apps have it to remove ads but I make maybe 20 dollars a month from that. Artist either want to be paid or gain some other benefit from using my website and app but with the low engagement on social media they don't see much benefit. Unfortunately, I don't have the resources to invest in advertising, and my social media accounts seem to be shadowbanned. I have 20k followers, but I'm not getting any engagement. I've tried everything to promote my website, but it's only generating enough revenue to cover the server bill. I even tried leaking unreleased music to get more traffic, but it was too risky, and I received a couple of DMCA takedown notices I could lose my domain and host by doing this and its a pretty top level domain. I also posted videos on social media to attract more traffic, but it didn't work out. At this point, I'm feeling discouraged and wondering if it's time to give up on this project.
