is jekyll a good option for a blog ?

i'm thinking of maintaining a blog as a long term plan. so any of you have any experience with jekyll or any other static site generators ? if so would you recommend it in the long run ?

I did like it for static site generation, yeah. You can automate update/deployment process using github or bitbucket pipelines and it becomes quite a pleasant experience.

sure, it was at least 4 years back when I used this setup so my knowledge probably is outdated.

OP could use a static builder and still use wp as the backend (by using wp as an api). Doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive. Problem with using wp as a frontend is the “server side rendered pages” which slows down page load. Plus wp is a security hell.
