Is AlexHost any good?

It is always best to contact the host via chat and be up front about what you plan to host. I contacted Alexhost in the past. The person I spoke to was not that friendly. I told them that I was going to host an anonymous cloud storage service (not the files just the static HTML). They would only host if I spent at least 150 euros. For me that was a huge red flag and it wasn't something written on their website and still isn't now. Any business trying to extort you for extra money using this type of business model isn't going to fare well.

I think someone was not understand each other. We adviced you to buy dedicated server, we don't obey you to buy a dedicated server for 150 euros.
Our advice is only for speed / performance, you can choice the dedicated server you want.

You can host your Anonymous Cloud Storage without any problem in our dedicated servers, if you respect our AUP (Acceptable Usage Policy).

VPS met my speed/performance requirements for hosting static HTML. That's what I used with NetShop ISP and that worked for me before I needed more bandwidth.

There was no misunderstanding between myself and the person I had a chat with at Alexhost (I saved the transcript too). What was stated clearly in the conversation is that they expected me to spend at least 150 euros to deal with any abuse notices, when that should be the standard for any paid service (regardless of the amount) from a hosting provider (that seems to general consensus across all other hosting providers). The advice to buy a dedicated server for at least 150 euros certainly wasn't a speed/performance requirement. It was an extortion for more money due to the potential abuse notices that Alexhost might receive.

I'm just sharing my own experience and it might be different for others.

Alex host is awful currently have an open ticket with them right now, asked for refunds which they guaranteed me. and now they are refusing to refund me, its now 10 days in with no resolution mate,
both servers with bad connections unreliable. asked for support waited with no reply staff at the start was awesome, then when i asked for a refund they barley reply barley offer support and they don't even honour their refund policy. if this ever changes then i will update my post, i also have a full folder of screenshots

Hi, I'm writting a post here since my server just got suspended (non negociable as they say) without any warnings because of a basic DMCA complaint.
They're supposed to ignore DMCA. They say 'yes but this DMCA complaint came from Europe'. Here is the proof :

They ignore DMCA complaints from US. But if there is one coming from Europe as they say (don't know what it means since DMCA is a US based law) they'll shutdown your server.

Wasted money on their basic plan year ago! The site was more offline than online!
Now they are emailing to promote they hosting LOL

Did you check our marketplace thread? Did you ask if we ignore dmca or not? You don't.

Don't say things that isn't true. We are business company, not someone of your friends who you like to Joke or Trolling.

yeah now a days its very tough market many providers not really ignore a DMCA and they follow a Law

And DMCA is a Related to the content you are hosting on yours server..which is illegal or don't have a any authorities or license to host.

I have a question as a potential future customer. Are you able to distinguish legitimate DMCAs from the bogus ones sent by bots/competitors?
Somebody reported here that his service was suspended after a DMCA complaint, why didn't you allow him to file a counter-notification?
