It happens because as I'm aware u need to moderate your Reddits, if u don't and there is too much duplicated content, Reddit takes it down

Whenever you set up a new community, make sure to spend some time researching and writing your AutoMod rules. These are crucial! Especially if you're in a niche where specific domains or keywords are known to come from spammers. If you don't do so, and I assume you're probably not modding manually on daily basis, your subreddit can get flagged after a while.

Still, bans on Reddit are somewhat unpredictable.

IIRC automod actions do not count toward "mod activity" that prevents subreddits from getting banned due to not being moderated.

Just common sense, if the automatic rules are set up properly to accommodate the niche, nothing would be flagged in the first place.

This has been happening loads on reddit atm, especially for NSFW subs. I think they are doing their best to clear out as many NSFW subs as possible so that the site is cleaned up a bit before they go public.

Quick question, what counts as mod activity? Can you give me a quick example? If I have multiple subreddits, whats the easiest way to get passed this issue without the subreddit being banned.

This happens when all moderators get banned or none of them login for some period.

maybe got a little too crazy with no mods or control there, but if you appeal it and make sure to get mods to keep people civilized

Some of the subs I'm in also had this issue but some were already unbanned after the appeal.
