What should i consider before buying expired domain

I got a good domain from waybackmachine
The owner actually placed it for sale in 2018 but no one Bought, it got expired and dumped since 2018, and the domain is loosing backlinks from 28k in January 2021 down to 187 currently.

I checked most of the active link and is pure and from sites with 50-70 DA
Some of the sites get organic traffic too from 100-300k...

The expired domain currently on a pet niche with "pet" in domain name. but I wanna go for something else with the domain.
Domain age: since 2015
Authority: semrush:2 ahref: 1.1

Please ask my anything I'll respond, I don't wanna make a wrong choice thanks...

Based on the info you provided, that domain is all but good. DR isn't super precise, but DR 1.1 says a lot. I presume it has referring domains somewhere in range of 10 and it's history probably won't even be too good. Especially since it has "pet" in its name.
