TL;DR AT BOTTOM

Hello again! There honestly isn't much exposition i can provide to you. I had a CPA journey here previously that i barely started and was unable to finish because this news was sprung on me. Here is the information i can provide to you:

I am an 18 year old male in the USA. I live with my parents and I was informed about a week ago that I'll be removed on June 15th. I am not a bad child, but my parents are attempting to pay off momentous debts at the moment and they decided to downsize. unfortunately, my sister and I are apart of that downsizing. She said, in theory, we could live with her, but the amount we would have to give her every month is so large that we may as well move out. That is of course combined with the fact that she doesn't trust us to pay on time for some reason. I cannot stay with family even though i have 4 sisters. One is younger and three don't have space as they're struggling themselves and have children to take care of. I am not friends with many motivated individuals. Some dont have jobs, some arent of age, some aren't willing to move out yet because it isn't advantageous for them whatsoever, and others are not trustworthy in general, so i wouldn't want to tie the roof over my head to them for any reason at any point ever. Renting a room is a possibility and most likely the only option. I'm a bit apprehensive about doing that though seeing as I'm clueless on how to do that and simultaneously avoid a nightmare story.

My main issue is that i want to come out of this in an atleast partially favorable situation. My original plan before i knew i was going to be kicked out was to get a car, do deliveries, work my job, pay rent to my mother, and invest my remaining income. That would allow me to invest hundreds to a thousane plus every month. The idea was if i did that for three to four years straight, I would achieve some level of online income. Unfortunately, that dream is now dead and I'm most likely going to be stuck in a situation where i would be lucky to invest $100 a month.

I make around $1.5k a month after taxes ($12/hour)+commission working at a phone store. I'm relatively smart with my money compared to those i hang around. I will have around $8k+ in my account in the middle to end of March. Nobody knows this. I've been working here since October. I could most likely work 70/80 hours a week for these four months, save every penny I can, combine that with the $8k and have enough to pay for several months of rent in advance. I believe that's the optimal solution? i don't believe buying a car would be the best move anymore unless i were to quit for full time deliveries which could be a very hit or miss idea i cant come back from. however, i do live in a highly populated area.

i have ideas, but this is the kind of thing i believe I can't mess up on. If i mess up, i could very well end up in a bad place for an extended period of time and that's exactly what I want to avoid. Many of you here are older than me and i can't see in ways that more wise individuals might. Unfortunately, i cant soak up the wisdom of others without the accompanying experience. I'd like other perspectives. I don't believe my ideas are horrendous, but I'd like some well-informed opinions to shape my final decision. I was thinking of learning to code or some other skill for the next 6 months to a year, but I'm not sure which would be the best to start without a degree at my age. I also want to move to a location that will increase my income. Somewhere where things are happening. It doesn't matter where i go in the US (besides Cali). What would you do if you were me? What skill would you learn for the future? Where would you move? All answers appreciated. I guess this isn't as urgent as I had it seem looking back at what I typed, but four months is not very long and Id rather be put on the right path ASAP. Thanks in advance!

Apologies for any grammatical or capitalization errors. Hopefully that was as concise as I could make it. Questions will be answered.

TL;DR: 18 year old getting kicked out four months from today with an income of $1.5k income. I cannot move in with family and a 10% chance of moving in with a friend. What would you do if you were me and what skill would you learn to increase your income when you don't make enough to invest in IM?

Never start internet marketing in desperation. If you are working in a job, continue with that job, if not, then look for a job.
We all have gone through some or the other challenges in life. Some or the other challenges will keep coming.
Stay strong, remain motivated and keep moving forward.

Just a thought sprang reading from what you previously wanted

How about becoming an Uber driver?
They apparently have some weekly rentals deal too?
https://bonjour.uber.com/marketplace/marketplaces/vehicles_us/weekly_rentals
Car = place to sleep, can do some part time uber driving = some extra side income
able to drive to work so convenience is there too
That is true. I wonder how dangerous it is to sleep in your car? I've watched a few videos on it and it doesn't seem that bad, but there are many people who treat it like the worst thing ever. I could still work my normal job and deliver whenever I'd like. I am definitely considering this thank you. It means a lot.

I should have been more clear. I've been interested in IM since I was 13/14. I don't want to start it now in desperation, but I do want to learn a skill in my free time for the next 6 months to a year that will provide me enough income to hopefully return. I decided on keeping the job I think. Mainly because I haven't even been here six months and we're understaffed anyway. Thank you for your advice and kind words. I will take them to heart. I will remain motivated. I cannot falter. Bless!

Probably not the best long term thing, considering your posture would be super messed up but i'm no doc either.

look into developing skills that are valuable.
- offering useful tools to other IMers
- setting up and launching simple wordpress blogs
- on-page SEO
- off-page SEO (backlinks)
- understanding how paid traffic works

etc.

best option would to sleep in your car.
saves you a ton of money each month, that you can save or use towards something.
use your money for food and necessities.
im sure you have a phone, you can then even document your journey on YouTube, as many people go viral with sleeping in their cars etc.
rent would completely wipe your paycheck and leave you stressed.

I'd consider a job that would involve a lot of downtime (e.g. security guard somewhere where you can just chill out) and find a second part-time job that you can do remotely on your laptop.

Do not quit your job, stay with it, that is your base income if anything goes wrong you still have it, you need to consider options to continue with your job and move from there, if you have limited experience and go for a nother job that you really do not know what will happen is a faith jump, go step by step, first you need to find a place to stay before you can think in another job or even start a bussines, make a list with priorities, place to stay, food, transportation, bills, medice, once you have the basics cover make a budget and see if is sustainable or no and adjust the tactic, play it safe and continue with your current job, also you can uber an earn some extra money and keep both jobs.

first thing is sort out your housing. join FB local houses for rent groups or join sites like roomies.com. or talk to apartment managers and get housing situated first.
are you thinking about quitting your job? don't yet. all those housing people will usually want to verify employment.
remove the fluff "my parents are kicking me out" this is just another "how do i make money online" thread. what have you tried? what worked? what didn't? the whole forum is full of methods. keep trying until one works.

I don't think you need to be a dr to confirm this is true! lol But yes maybe in the short term. You can shower and work out at the gym to ensure your fitness stays good, and work out your back at the same time. I slept in a backyard of a friend for a couple of weeks in a tent, and just done that, before work. Motivating to start work everyday close to homelessness till you get enough money that you can command the universe again.

Good luck @Qquuinn hope you can stay strong and get a pay rise from some sort of hustle soon.

get a 9-5
skipped straight to the tl;dr huh. he mentioned working 70-80 hours a week.
but looking for higher paying employment is always an option too. dedicate 2-3 hours a week to seeking it out. affiliate income takes a while to get going when starting from $0. plus not much time to dedicate to that front when youre doing 70-80 hour weeks.

Look for the cheapest room on Airbnb for your living situation. If you do end up getting a car you can live in it just need to find safe places to park at night.

I actually get a discount on my phone plan because of my job as well. I pay about $30/$35 for a $145 dollar plan. I would have to find ways to cook or eat for cheap though. I don't believe showering would be an issue for me, but everything else? I'd have to work out the logistics on that one, but it's not impossible. Thank you for the idea!

I may look into remote customer service? That's what my older sister does I believe, so I could message her for some advice.

Yes true that's why I asked at the end what skills I should learn in the future to increase my income without a degree because I won't be able to invest without some form of income increase. Thank you regardless. Rational answer.
Yes, you are.

The reason is because you are a bad child.

Now go get those deliveries bro.
thanks for the laugh on that one. On a serious note though, she said after what my older sisters did to her financially (one stole her credit card info), she'll never trust her kids with money again.

I didn't know about roomies, so thank you for that. As for the end part, I want to reply to that quickly before I address the rest. I am very clearly not requesting IM advice. I do not have time for "methods" or investments. I'm looking for life advice on how to most efficently make what I see as an important decision. I just got the news a week ago and as stated in the thread, I am considering various options. That is the fluff being removed. I want several perspectives on something I CAN'T speed up because it's happening on a specified date. No I don't want to quit yet unless I see proof that Uber can make me more money than my curent job. Even then, I'd still like to keep it for atleast 6 months. I understand your perspective and see where you are coming from though. I just don't quite agree. Anyway, I appreciate the advice! Thank you!

I just got off my 9 to 5 three hours ago lol. Thank you though

I currently workout at home because gyms feel strange, but I could 100% do that. A lot of that sounds possible for me and like an interesting way to save, so thank you. How did that work out for you? How did you get out of that situation?

Yeah i literally mentioned that i currently make $1.5k monthly at 12$/hr after taxes. The math isn't really difficult and I said i could ramp up my hours or get a second job. Some people are interesting. Anyway, aside from that, there are a few places near me where i could make around $15 or maybe more, but I'm not sure if I should seek them out as a full time gig at this point. I don't want to have a resume that makes it seem as if I hop from job to job, so the higher paying one would probably end up being part time. I would decrease my hours at the place i work at now, but we're already understaffed as it is (four employees other than the manager) and I wouldn't want to make that worse. There is a considerable amount of downtime on certain days when you work retail and everyone is extremely talkative. I'd rather not spend those hours getting shade thrown my way for making everyone's job more difficult. As for affiliate income, I've looked into that a lot and it's definitely something I'm interested, but don't have the time for. I know I'm not the type of person to enjoy affiliate blogs though. Maybe YouTube

Honestly, until you told me this, I completely forgot about airbnb. For some reason, i thought about facebook marketplace and sleeping in a car before that crossed my mind. I will look into it. As for the car, we will see. Seems to be a semi popular option.

Find a sublet that would run you a few hundred/month. It might suck living with a stranger but it sounds like you best option for the next few months.

In the meantime, go to a trade school that offers a job placement program. I've seen someone get a $60k job in a few months going this route. That should be enough for you to get your own space.

It'll suck the first few months, but seems like your best option.
