Take for example software programming, it does not change so fast and it's perfectly fine to learn Javascript or Python on data that is being aggregated a few years back.

I agree that it cannot replace google but it's something worth using for sure.

Take for example software programming, it does not change so fast and it's perfectly fine to learn Javascript or Python on data that is being aggregated a few years back.

But you can't use the same outdated version of the interpreters with the code generated by ChatGPT. For example, Python 10 is not compatible with AI models. I'm not sure if they updated their versions recently.

I'm not talking about individuals, but about those who believe that chatGPT is the future. There are hundreds of models on huggingface, which indeed works the same way as chatGPT. I hope a few members are well aware of it.

I'm not against it anyway, but it's disgusting to see people compare Google with chatGPT.

Yes, but eventually it might, that's why everyone is talking and comparing it because if on initial release it's so close, then it will probably happen way faster than in 5 years.

It's not the first attempt. OpenAI trained and launched various models before launching ChatGPT. Actually, it's the final updated model of the series.

if you would RTFM then you would know the model is at the state of 2021. so it cant answer questions about anything after that.

Chapt gpt is great for your mentioned tasks but it's not great for finding the best user generated content which is the foundation of Googles index and the search engines main purpose is to find the best. Chat gpt programming isn't perfect yet too and will require some basic programming knowledge to identify and modify any issues.

I am excited to see Googles implementation of Ai into their search engine. Which I am sure it will be a new section with an Ai answer with the search results of user generated websites.

Chat gpts popularity is niche and not mainstream. I asked a bunch of people about it in social gatherings and no one really cares about it except for the people making money from it.

It is a really tedious process. It needs to be trained with huge data daily to give accurate answers. Though it's possible, the accuracy will not be determined until they collect real-time data from users. That is the core reason why they released it free of charge.

Read the above article for Googles plans with AI chat box added to their Search. Since everyone already goes on Google, they will get more exposure with their AI chatbox too.

Google has unlimited resources and could even take some people from the chat GPT team over to their side.

On the other hand, Chat GPT just gives out one simple and easy answer - much easier to digest.

Google has already moved towards that model through their featured snippet, they are just not claiming someone else's knowledge to be their own - unlike what Chat GPT does (there's no credit to the people who wrote the articles from where it sources its information).

Over time, new content creators (the real ones, not those who just write for SEO rankings) will be the losers if Google goes the Chat GPT way

What I meant was that it is a great format for answering search queries.
What you asked for is very specific - why would someone ask for search results when you can get the answer to your query directly?
My point is - what stops google to start offering a chatbox just like it?
