[Amazon FBA] first $1,000 on Amazon FBA

on my first site, about 4 months fron going live. everything was new to me.

First sale less than a day once stock was in....that's because I had advertising ready to go, page setup with keywords etc. First 1k in the first 2 months. We'll researched product etc.

Why?

I wanna start Amazon FBA, is it very profitable?
No. Amazon is high volume, low margin business.

Making $1k in rev on it is ridiculously easy, but you can expect to be at a loss for 4-7 months before to see some profit of that revenue (assuming it's not a total loss of a product). Junglescout did try it with a product and make like $10k net after 1 year from $220k revenue (not including their time and taxes). This is for private label.

If you just resell other brands (they call it "wholesale" but yeah), then you can directly make profit. But growth is limited and you have to drive around to find great deals to resell.

When i first started to sell on amazon, you can make $1,000 profit in a week. However, the competition is very tight now.

Private label is still the way to go. Losing in your first 1-2 month is realistic. However, once you've done your maintenance, private label can make you set for life.

Amazon nowadays is more of an investment rather than a basement operation (I started my business back in 2016 in a basement), so it will be difficult for newbies.

Are you still doing FBA/ ecom?

depends on your product price and demand, if your selling low cost items at high volume or high cost items at high volume can reach 1k.

as mentioned by @zippyants, well researched product, conduct well your advertising

getting social proof of your product as soon would help immensely

That's what FBA gurus don't want you to know, unless it's an untapped and private label, or completely customized/designed product, you probably ain't gonna make much profit.
Competition is very high, and tools like helium10 and junglescoot make it easy to find new products.

Just started FBA myself, wholesaling to be exact i have done around $15k in revenue in the first half year of selling, my first 1k came quite quickly (1 month) as i had a mentor to help me get started couple years back but i only got around to fully investing time into it last summer.

How long did it take to make your first sales and your first $1k on Amazon FBA?

the process of sourcing goods is very tedious and time consuming but like any business you need to put in the hours for success, would not say growth is limited at all if your putting time into it sourcing profitable products and not scraping 5% profit

The margins aren't that lucrative but it's still profitable and you can still exit with x47 & + your monthly profit, as it's an asset on high demand.

I agree that gurus talks are full of BS but you don't necessarily need to have one of those two to make a profit.

there are winners and losers.

winners = be that 1% that does everything right, find the right team, the right people to help, with respect.

losers = not willing to take the risks, wants everything done for cheap, for free. (its too good to be true = scammed, you lose even more money and time)

Remember, everything good has its high value, or it would be to easy to be millionaire, EVERYONE would be millionaire. There would be no employees, no one picking the trash, being a waiter, washing dishes at the restaurant.

You should feel lucky that there's such high level help available. What if he doesn't want to work with you? People can always say no.
