How many keywords to target per page?

Trying to figure out on-page SEO and keyword research in general. If any expert is able to help me with the following questions that would be greatly appreciated.

How many keywords should I be targeting per page?
Should I have 1 main keyword and like 2-3 related keywords?
What if I use 10-15 related keywords, will this dilute them too much?
Is there a difference in targeting product page and blog page keywords?

How many keywords should I be targeting per page?

1 keyword.

Of course, if you're going to cover a big topic in full you'll use many keywords that could be considered main keywords, but usually you optimize for 1 keyword only

Should I have 1 main keyword and like 2-3 related keywords?

1 main keyword for sure, but how many related keywords you'll have depends on the length of your content. I mean, there are cases in which you could rank without adding related keywords, but that would be wasted opportunity because the more keywords you can rank for with the same piece of content the more traffic you'll get, so it makes sense to include related keywords into each piece of content that you write, especially since this is pretty standard nowadays in terms of on-page SEO

And the length of the content can be decisive for how many keywords you target because if you write a 400 words article, for example, but you want to use 20 related keywords in that piece of content you will most likely run into keyword stuffing / over-optimization issues. So, a few related keywords (2-5 for example), would be a good number in this scenario.

But if you write a 3000 words article and you only include 5 related keywords, for example, then this is obviously a wasted opportunity to insert more related keywords for more relevant traffic.

While there is no number written in stone, I personally like to use 1 related keyword every 50-100 words.

What if I use 10-15 related keywords, will this dilute them too much?

again, it comes down to the length of your content and to how much sense it makes to have those keywords in there. If you're going to insert 15 related keywords into a 600 words article I dare predict that your article will not read very well, and could even be flagged for keyword stuffing.

But if you insert them into a 2000 words article then yeah, you might make something useful with them.

Look for semantic keywords. You can rank for thousands of keywords with one page. Don't try to overuse keywords that are semantic to another...

Keyword density for a page is about 2% - 3% and the targeted keywords should be used within that range. You can also use secondary keywords and long tail keywords that you need to rank.

As per my Knowledge, When optimizing a webpage for SEO , it's important to focus on a small number of targeted keywords .The Number of Keywords for a single Page will depend on the length of the content and the Competition of the Particular Keywords. , but generally, it's recommended to focus on 1-3 primary keywords and a few secondary keywords. For example, 1-2 keywords for every 100 words of copy.

It is important to keep in mind -keyword stuffing (An excessive number of Keywords). It can harm the user experience and also be penalized by search engines. Instead, focus on creating high-quality, relevant content that naturally includes your target keywords .

I have shared this detail based on my knowledge also looking for more significant stuffs.

 The best practice is to use your primary keywords less than 3% or will lead to keyword stuffing
 You can use related keyword or combination of keywords
 Google is trying to be user friendly so it focuses priorly on the quality and in-depth content so using more related keywords can be done according to the content length
 Yes of course there is a difference in product page and blog page keyword in product page we must use product specific keyword and in blog page we must use more of informational keyword

So before using a keyword kindly make a complete research on the intent of the keyword according to the page you are working on.
