Hi all members

I have a question regarding links that have come both to my website but also to other colleagues' websites. Are these some links from indexing or are they spam links someone directed towards my website. Would be grateful if anyone has a good answer.

Thanks in advance, Jordekorren

Pure garbage.

if you see .xyz that's pretty much garbage from the get-go. Even if you use it for redirection, google marks it as spam much faster than a .com.

Look like someone is not happy with your sites. Disavow these links, dont keep them, even they dont have any impact on your site.

From an average keyword ranking of around 10-11 to 35-40 after the links arrived. I think I might have to disavow the links.

Is there any way to find out who made them or bought them as I have my suspicions?

Thanks for the help!

if you're 100% sure that your rankings dropped because of these links then yeah, disavow them. But when did the rankings drop? Because you might as well have been the target of one of the millions of google updates going on lately, and if that's the case then you should first fix what the update broke instead of wasting your time with spammy links which you'll get aplenty of anyway as your site grows bigger

one of your competitors most likely. I don't think you can find out who did it, though...

Spammers use these types of links as refer. When webmasters notice them and get curious, they visit those links to check. That's what they actually want you to do and get "TRAFFIC" or "AFFILIATE COOKIE STUFFING" in return.

We cannot identify who created those links. But the smart move is to remove those links as soon as possible to avoid Google penalties.
