Anyone Living In Dubai?

To be honest, I think thats almost anywhere expensive you want to go in, in any country. I guess you were just at a place where everything around was expensive. If you dont have money and in big expensive places. You wont enjoy it regardless.

I had a contract at 4000 EUR net / tax free a month + free apartment. So it's not like I would consider myself poor in Western Europe. I didn't enjoy it because it is an indoor world. 99% of where you and others will be is indoors, indoors and beeing drunk and making content. It's not like Bangkok or Manila or even lets say Berlin (which is just for very young woke people who want to pay half their income for rent) which are cities with a real local feeling to it, like real people living there. Dubai feels totally fake, well, which it is.

Dubai has great weather all year round, and if you're in a nice airconditioned office and live in air conditioned accommodation you are fine when it's into the 50c+ in summer.

It can be as expensive as fuck out there, or eat local etc and it's actually affordable.

Rainy season isn't that bad, it might be 3-4h no electricity if it's hardcore raining but otherwise isn't a deal breaker because between raining it's still sunny all day. I was in Koh Samui 10 years ago as well, very nice place. 10 years ago overstaying wasn't a big deal, I overstayed 3 years without any bans like nowadays and paid $500 at the airport. Instead of the $30.000 single payment 5 year Elite Visa you can still use visa agents for about $1000-$2000 a year.

Yea all preference, Just your personal experience. But you did live average 4k euros is good plus apartment is amazing. so no money is not the right word to say.

But, all depends on financials and who your circle is your going out with. I know majority of people who love being in those rich zones and highly network for business opportunities and make content at the same time for fun, and making content as in posting their at restaurants, driving a nice car, or showing their lifestyle to show to family and friends they have on their social platforms, they decide to do that. So its how you want to see it.

Overall, being in those places you could increase your network with wealthy people who can share ideas between each other. Your describing your dubai experience as a introvert experience. The whole dubai is a fake city thing, you didn't get in those rooms to say that. You seen that perspective standing from a distance, but if you were able to be in those rooms, you would also enjoy it.

You have two choices in life, you can play the game of chess in the big leagues at such places and it wont be a pleasant experience its extremely aggressive. Or you can live with the common people as the cities your describing and be very happy with the level of authenticity your surrounded by real kind people and live by everyday happy experiences. But I disagree with the statements of the woke thing lol. Anyways thats all Happy New Year to all!

Overall, being in those places you could increase your network with wealthy people who can share ideas between each other. Your describing your dubai experience as a introvert experience. The whole dubai is a fake city thing, you didn't get in those rooms to say that. You seen that perspective standing from a distance, but if you were able to be in those rooms, you would also enjoy it.

The thing about increasing my network is that I exactly did that, with other hard working "only average" income guys. It was a good experience but I didn't enjoy it because of the fakeness and the only indoor world and I have a lot of cities I lived before to compare to!

Most of the people in Dubai living the lifestyle you are admiring are people who a) just got lucky or b) have rich parents c) faking it and I wouldn't consider them hard working or smart. It's not hard work selling a teeth whitener (just an example) from China and then selling a $499 course on how to sell a teeth whitener and get lucky on the IG algo.

And don't talk about envy, I have partied hard with the same people in Bangkok and Manila, ... and there, everything and everybody feels just more normal than everything and everybody in Dubai.

I like places before they get mainstream cool. I lived in Berlin in the 2000/10s and it was cool. Then it wasn't anymore because everybody came . Just look at James Bond Island instagram pictures. I mean, it's a trend now to show the millions of people there and not the actually beauty of the bay. I remember travelling to a small island near Phuket with a hired fishmen boat in 2005... the beach was white and except 1 other couple there was NONE. I did it again in 2018... wolololol, it was like 2000 people on 100m beach.

You need to understand, everybody is gonna make their own experiences but people also listing to other people's adventures, then they meet again and one guy can say "I had a completely different experience than you" without telling the other guy how wrong his experience was! You should travel more and get more experiences, you might meet people who want to share their experiences at a beach bar with you and will ask you about yours
