Google Adsense: seriously do people make money from it? Seems pointless IMO

AdSense works for me, suits certain sites when some affiliate schemes don't tie in with them so well or just don't convert with affiliate earners

There really isn't a standard magic placement or size that will make adsense work better. Here's an example though:

My best clicks come from the very very top tiny links, and the ones in the sidebar. Why? Because people think that they are part of my menu/navigation system . They click on them thinking they'll be directed to another page in my site, but really they're redirected to a whole new page.

EDIT: AdSense never seems to work on sales pages.

Adsense does work great for me. Avg 150 -200 day on adsense only plus affiliate commissions on just 2 sites.

It's called "SmoothGallery". Unfortunately though, it isn't a WordPress add-on, it's built into the theme (free theme, magasin-uno).

There are 2 issues with this theme though. Neither the slideshow or the thumbnails worked. If your interested in this theme though, you can get it here:

I got lucky with adsense, i have a simple site which i get 2k UV a day from, CTR is huge and i can rake in $70+ a day, nicely nicely...

If you arent making money with adsense it can be one of two things

1) ad relevancy

2) ad placement

If its the first then tweak until their relevant, if its the latter... blend them in

Well, if they're all blogs, then that's exactly what we're doing.

you need lots of traffic and the right niche.

Entertainment pays squat - that's why so many people see poor earnings. Try doing a site that isn't related to entertainment and you'll see it's actually pretty good.

It can be done but it takes forever to get that Google trust. I made my site years ago, gave up with it, then suddenly 2 years later it jumped up and started making cash.

My third day using adsense I generated $40 bucks on just 1 web page. I do not think there is any concrete way to guarantee high amounts of income, but it is definitely possible. I know of a few people who make $1k a day or more via adsense

I made my 1st 104$ check received today for which it took 1 year. But if my plans work, I will get 300$ a day and it takes 1-1.5 years from now to achieve that point.

i have google adsense on my pages but i make nothing from it.

i have affiliate sales that i get money from. google adsense has netted me nothing. does it really serve a purpose to waste ad space on that?

Adsense is a huge money maker for lots of people, you are just lacking enough traffic to see it. Start getting a few hundred unique to your site a day, optimize your placement and you should earn a few bucks a day from that.

I totally agree with TYGRUS, I'm currently making around $900 to $1200 monthly with adsense WITH ONE SITE and I'm aiming for $30,000 monthly. Hope I get there. My advise to you all trying to make money with adsense is DO NOT RUSH, DO NOT TRY TO GET LOTS OF MONEY FAST WITH ADSENSE OR YOU WILL GET BANNED, TRY TO DO PROMOTIONS AT A SLOW AND STEADY PACE AND YOU WOULDN'T GET BANNED.
