Are Forums Still A Thing?

I 've seen some forums dying, forums don't rank as high as they used to. Many forums are inactive with the last posts being years old. Reddit on the other hand is very active and the anonymous voting system helps keep the quality of the content high.
Now Google has started putting more emphasis on forums for some type of keywords.

Oh, the irony! :)
Yeah, forums are still a thing. They are a goldmine of niched information and networking.

People that use forums are above the average, we are not paying internet to see teenagers dancing on TikTok...so, if you find smart people like us, you can grow your own forum.

yes big forums for niche markets still exist
take a look at motorcycle and auto forums for specific makers eg honda. they are huge.
bhw has several competition forums for affiliate marketing which are also fairly big.
spend some time on google and you will find forums for any niche, big, medium, and small.
if you want to automate this im sure you can find a popular forum footprint eg "powered by Vbulletin". scrape 10,000+ google results. run them through a bulk alexa rank checker. and now you have sortable list of the biggest forums you scraped to do whatever you want with.

Maybe 15 years ago with no Social Media forums were the place to be.

In 2022, what is the deal with forums? Are they dead? Are there many active forums out there still?

Asking because I was planning on picking a niche and doing some forum marketing.
Forums are definitely still a thing. We are having this conversation on one.

I mean you are asking it on a forum
oh the irony hahahha :D

OP, what would you call quora (i am not even going to talk about bhw)? Isn’t it surprisingly similar to a giant forum?

edit: Oh and reddit as well..

Truth is, the lingo has changed, but forums still are a thing.

If it's not, you will not ask this question here

If you read the the new google update, forums will rise again in the new E-E-A-T system

If you aim for profits then a forum wouldn't be one of the best ideas,

It could work, but it needs more time and moderation to work unlike other type of websites,

There are much easier things to do and it won't require you any direct interaction with people or daily manual work,

A good idea could make it worth it, but not any other main niche forum, not a good ROI overall

I am going to have to disagree. Everything requires work. It's only hands free if you employ people to work, and you could do that with forums.

So is BHW dead now? Lmao dudeeee! :D
People literally still print zillions on forums and someone is here doubting whether forums got heartbeats...mann.

Persist for at least 3-5 years. Things will surprise you. Not even kidding.

But hey! Only if you take actions now.

Anyway what a good ROI means is relative from person to person as cost of living also differs from geo to geo.. So. But I have seen people on here made autopilot money than a 9-5 would ever offer, with luxury lifestyle flying country to country.

I mean what else could be an evidence of good ROI than happiness forked out of seemingly stable business finances, especially if it got you relocated to greener pastures. I may be wrong but that's just me.

Yes, forums are good stuff to get some additional traffic and some seo value as well. Despite some people say they are useless for SEO - not like that.
If you know how to properly use them for your SEO strategy - you will get the result

You have to understand that ROI refers basically to the earnings compared to investments in terms of time, money, work and engagement needed to both start and keep running the business,
not purely how much you can earn by running out something,

A forum would require more time to gather and get the necessary members to make and keep it alive, will usually need a better server and especially daily moderation, even if you got moderators doing most of the work you'll still need to get involved and make sure everything is running correctly,

Compared to a dropshipping store, movie website, auto blogs or even a basic blog website which you can basically set and forget and still being able to make x10 times that you can do with any forum, the ROI is really minimal when it comes to forums,

Not mention that you shouldn't take only successful forums as a bare argument or example for this, but try and check how many of them in different kind of niches are making solid profits compared to the efforts put into action

Forums still a thing no as before but defenetely you can find forums, everything depends in how you seo, when you search how to do something or help with video games or instructions about any problem with the cellphone, computer, console the first thing you find is a forum and that is tech sure there still a lot of active forums.

I have been trying to start a forum for about a year now. It is very difficult to get the ball rolling.

My niche is VERY chatty, there is no reason it should not work.

I have tried everything from social media to contests to ads. Even when I get people to join, getting them to come back it is the hard part.

Most people here think that if BHW is going strong, all forums should be going strong. I wouldn't agree with this.

I've seen people leaving strong forums and migrating to similar Facebook groups. Social media platforms know how to keep the user engaged especially through the mobile apps and also the users have a lot "forums" (groups) in a single app, a single timeline etc.

This is just a supposition: BHW is going strong because most of the people here are working on PCs/ laptops (SEO/ IM is a niche in which professionals are still preferring to work on PC) and it's much more natural to access the BHW website through browser than going to a FB group for SEO.

I find forums VERY USEFUL.

For example, I have learnt alot about blogging from this forum.
