i just started going through the list of web 2.0 sites to build a web 2.0 tier 1 backlinks, & when you get to the sites, a lot of them have either changed from free to paid memberships or they are offline or have changed to non web 2.0 such as soup.io, so is web 2.0 still a good backlinking method ? because the ones i built with unique content months ago still have none of the pages indexed, previously (years ago) some, i.e. blogspot used to get indexed almost immediately & blogspot & wordpress could get ranked on google.com for terms, now it seems almost impossible just to get the pages indexed, & thats with unique content & backlinking them with more unique content from other web 2.0's
Has web 2.0 died as a link building method ?

It's a link building type, SEO has changed a lot and now you need a solid link building strategy to rank

If anything, link building is not as BIG of a factor as it used to be. It is part of the equation, but not the entire equation as it once was. Focus on better keyword research, content quality, topical relevancy and interlinking. If you get those things right then you can get away with fewer links (~ 50%)
i know, but i was just saying that they seem to be dieing off, it could just be that the owners got tired of being spammed 24 hours a day & all the maintenance the site needs to keep a web 2.0 site going
im under the impression that indexing services dont work for that long, just my humble impression based on what people say on here etc, im very interested in an indexing method (call it what you want) that works long term, but most of them seem to work for a while, then they dont

these days, you wont be able to rank by using web 2.0. suggest to create web 2.0, get them indexed, connect to google search console, and use it to index your other links.

Since the old web2.0 sites are died or turned into paid memberships. you gotta find new sites which can be used as web 2.0 and also get indexed.

yes, i was/am just doing it part of an overall link building strategy, but thought that i noticed they had declined etc, such as sites going offline, or charging an amount per month which would cost more than your own domain + hosting - such as angelfire.lycos (or whatever its called)

I got around 300 Web 2.0 d0follow backlink source in my database, 70% .com others residential TLDs, everything is fine.
yes, im adding sites in to the list as i find new ones, following competitors links to find new urls
