Why thread deleted ? Insecurity? LOL

I made a thread related to namecheap. This was to warn others who use NC, an important thread I believe.

While replying to a member I mentioned a forum dedicated to domain names (no intent to send people there) and that's why the thread got deleted? lol

Don't know who that mod is but you must be living under a rock. Everyone knows that forum. It maybe against the rules to mention other forums but I have seen people mentioning WF and other forums from time and time and those threads don't get deleted.

You have to violate a forum rule in the post for it to be deleted.

Mentioning another forum is normal. Posting a link to another forum equates to promoting another forum and that violates BHW rules.
Example : In the Reddit section, I can mention / post / reply "For promoting sausages, Reddit is a good platform". But, I must not post a Reddit link or any other forum's link.

@krishnaverma , I understand that you may be newbie. However, 1 example, see the Reddit section, it says "Reddit - discussions on BHW about Reddit". Over there Reddit has been mentioned a million times. Posting a link to a Reddit forum would be considered as promotion.
So, add more of vegetables into your diet . Leafy greens would be really good for you, especially spinach.
And you may be surprised to know that lamb has been linked to benefits such as long-term cognition. Try adding lamb to your favorite stew recipe or cooking it on the grill. In my case, I also add beef into my diet, as beef is an excellent source of iron, and as well all know, iron is involved in many fundamental biological processes in the brain. You are welcome to Google these nutritional facts.

i remember correctly someone said to use epik.com domain registrar instead of namecheap. I said epik gets bashed on a regular basis at namepros for their data breach and other issues. Its not like I was recruiting anyone to join the other forum. lol

No point telling you anything. I am sure when a mod comes here, he will confirm that even mentioning a competing forum can result in infarction.

I received a warning because of this confusion as well, "forum" in the context of BHW rules is any other platform where people can chat/post, so even mentioning a discord server or telegram group can get you in trouble.

Umm what exactly is the issue if a subreddit link is mentioned? That was for reference purpose, not trying to get any member joining it. It's not like BHW members don't have any idea what a sub reddit is.

Mentioning other forums/sub-reddit/facebook groups etc. is not allowed. This is a well known rule.
BHW is a business. FB restricts reach for posts with links for the same reason, they don't want free users pushing people off to other sites, whatever the reason may be.
We are all guests here. Gotta follow the rules.
