That's not true.
99% of them are botnets where people steal other people's bandwidth. The really big companies such as Bright Data, SOAX, & OxyLabs follow a strict ethical guideline and actually pay a very small price for the bandwidth people shared with them.

You're confusing between two different things.

This is how companies obtain proxies (ethically ofc):

They're talking about ethics a lot there, nobody is using "SIM Cards" or stuff like that though.

The proxies you refer to are known as vicsocks (victim socks proxy) and are usually residential IPs with a large selection, on shadier smaller sites which aren't legally registered. However, most big companies do not partake in these practices.
In fact, it is very hard to find reliable good quality vicsocks after 911 shutdown anyway.

Could be. Ask your provider about the source and then compare. For example, if they said they have their own sim cards.. and yet they provide proxies from all over the world, move to someone else. I would be honest I did not find an ethical residential proxy provider yet. Would be awesome if someone who knows can share.
