Does Shorts Impact Monetization?

If you have 4k watch hours(from regular videos) and 1k subs, and apply for monetization, does Youtube review your shorts as well? I have a movie recap channel and for my shorts, I post clips of movies and a caption over the video. This may be seen as reused content. I'm worried that the shorts will impact my the review for monetization.

wouldnt the reviewer find out that I privated it? The shorts got a lot of views and I gained a lot of my subs from them.

He for sure will, they got access to everything.
I really don't see a reason why you should hide your shorts which you worked hard on.
I've seen some movie recap channels before and they were monetized.
I believe that with a recap, voiceover and some editing to it that's called fair-use.

in this case, wouldn't it be safer to just delete all the shorts? I wouldn't say I worked hard on the shorts, afterall I am just taking clips from movies and putting a caption over it, so that's why I;m worried that they might not approve me for monetization when they are reviewing.

Don't delete them.
It will remove any hours that are gained by them

Ok thank you, reading the threads helped a lot.

But the threads are talking about regular videos whereas mine are shorts, so there is a slight difference.

Removing hours gained from them won't hurt my channel right? Since I earned 4k watch hours through regular videos, the only reason why I needed shorts was to get a slight boost in subs to reach the 1k mark.

Sometimes I even delete shorts because they get low views within the first hour, and reupload them to get better views. Idk if this means anything in this context.

I think in the end I'll just wait it out.

In that case, they simply won't affect your ability to apply for monetization yet can have a serious impact on your current flow of organic traffic.

You have to delete them bro. Short can only give you subscribers not watch hour. The reviewer will check your private videos
