Backlink Guide for Gaming Website

Hey everyone,
I have started a website almost two years ago, and it wasn't focused on a niche, however, since five months ago I decided to turn it into a gaming website. Since day one, I've never bought any backlinks for the website, and all I've got is those organic backlinks.
According to Ahrefs, currently I have almost 1000 backlinks of which, 71% are ********. Now, I have decided to buy some backlinks for my website. I should note than it is a Google News approved website.
Can you please tell me where should I start? What I've had in my mind was to go for some profile backlinks and social signaling at first as suggested by some.
Where would you start if you had such a website? Are niche edits good? What about buying articles with backlinks? Are PBN backlinks still a good idea?

Profile links and social signals are pretty useless at this point (although you should still get social signals just to make your site look popular as google loves popular sites). So, I'd focus on strong, quality links at this point, profile links are only good for diversity at this point but they won't increase your rankings.

And yeah, PBNs and niche edits are still good for ranking, but only if they're quality links, otherwise - like with most backlinks - if they're low quality they won't do anything.
