So...

My GSC says that I have 103 indexed posts.

If I use the site:mydomain.com --> only 8 indexed posts appear

So, I tested using site: with a link from these 95 posts that are indexed according to GSC. And the result shows up in Google.

So...what should I trust? Are these 103 posts indexed or not?

Check this thread I posted before:

That's why
So what is the most reliable method in your opinion to check if something is indexed?

Site:mydomain.com
Site:mydomain.com/post/xxx

They show different results...a link that is supposedly not indexed, is indexed if I search specifically for the post link and not the domain.

The latter

try without site:
Just a naked URL into the search field

Or I also use sometimes "site: root domain + title page"

8 looks like a penalty

I'm sorry but this is most likely a penalty.

Those results are omitted from site: query because they want to server them.

Any sites showing you 1-8 indexed, means there's some sort of Google penalty and if you'll check your GSC, You'll see 0 traffic/impressions or very close to it.

To be honest, I hate this number, please watch it closely and monitor the traffics to see if Google's traffic are declining to 0.

Thank you guys. I bought this domain for $8, it is a bit old domain (spam score 1%), there was no content, so really the traffic is very small, it is a new project, so I can hardly guarantee that the site was penalized using Analytics traffic metrics, because they were already close to zero for being new content.

It is normal for penalized sites to show up results if you type site:mydomain/post/blablabla ?

Apparently there is no 100% sure way in my case to tell if this is a penalty.

Sorry in my opinion this is a penalty, you can read the thread:

When site:domain.com on Google, if only shows 1,2,3,4,5,7,9,11, etc pages indexed, typically this domain is caught by Google, either use expired domain, using low quality AI/Translated content, or whatever Google call it. I seen these numbers before, but some claimed this can also change later if Google thinks your website is COOL? Maybe I have no idea.

But number 8, yeah I don't know, maybe its one of them.

You can keep producing good content and see what's change, and if several months later, this website is still index 8 pages, no traffics from Google, I guess its something evil.

If you just launched the site then nothing to worry about, pages will index progressively

I will update this thread if someday I notice 30 posts indexedes for example

Small update:

GSC: now shows 107 posts indexed, previously it was 103.

Site:mydomain: now shows 12 results. The weird thing is that if I search it shows 134 results...however, when I go to the second page, it only shows 12 results.

However, 12 or 134, are greater than 8.

The only way for you to know this is GSC

Go to performance and check the clicks and impressions of pages. If only 12 pages are showing clicks or impressions it means only 12 of them are indexed.

One more option would be that you used Google indexing API and Google now deindexed those pages
