Just wanted some advice from anyone who has done any major URL restructure on their active website. And yes proper 301 redirects will have to be done on all changes pages.
The site was built years ago and runs all pages like this
url.com/category
url.com/product
url.com/subcategory
url.com/page
So you can see its all 1 tier sub-folder setup.
1) Is it worth changing it up to to utilize proper category like structure?
url.com/category/product
url.com/category/sub-category/product
2) Has anyone done so without messing up their ranks?
