Ok so I'm starting a new blog in the gaming niche, however, I'm wondering if I should prioritize on-page optimization or just focus on righting easy-to-read useful content. Obviously in the long-term writing genuinely good content will get you backlinks but if you can't rank in the first place it's going to be hard to get these backlinks. I've been using SurferSeo but i feel like some of the stuff it says is pure ridiculous and when i follow it i think my quality decreases a ton.

Would it be a strategy to start off with on-page and once it starts ranking and building backlinks to go and re-edit it to make it more useful and of higher quality?

Interested to hear your thoughts.

that's probably because the gaming niche is more suited for visual content than for writing huge walls of text, and Surfer SEO excels at the latter. I would strongly consider focusing on making youtube videos for this niche, but I realize that this is not everyone's cup of tea (it's not mine for sure)

seriously, check what ranks up top in google for your chosen keywords. If you see blogs ranking in spots 1-3 (I doubt this to be the case) you can write content, but if you see youtube clips there's no point in wasting your time and mental energy writing content because you will never rank because google prefers to show youtube clips for your keywords

Hi thanks for your help! I did run a pretty successful youtube channel for this niche im doing. So i plan on creating tons of content for it. But there is some topics that rank where google only shows blogs. Perhaps that's an opportunity to create youtube videos for that topic since those videos haven't been made before.

You'll want to include a video in most of your articles. Gamers, by nature, are impatient. I know this because I work in that niche and the time spent per page, and per video, is better if the information is straight to the point & has multimedia.

You want to answer the searcher's intent perfectly with gaming. If you do, you'll retain your visitors.

Is it just gaming news or guides or gameplay?

Start with informational blog and write article for helping people, not for making money.

Basically its for trading in rocket league, we are creating an automated marketplace and trade bot which basically means we can instantly deliver items which is a service no other 3rd party provides. I use to run a pretty well-known trading youtube channel for rocket league, which im going to bring back when we launch so we can promote the site. I did think it would be an idea to create blogs and then implement a YT video at the top. So the blogs are all about trading topics.

Focus on content and optimize it right away so your initial rankings are good.

You will have a hard time getting on the good side of search engines after you make a bad first impression.

I suggest that you focus on the sub-niche that you will be targeting.

Everything else will flow from there.

If you think about it, by picking the right sub-niche, coming up with topics to write about and coming up with the proper structure of your content as well as the structure of your website actually take care of themselves.

How?

Reverse engineering!

As long as you nail the sub-niche identification stage correctly, you can reverse-engineer everything else.

Let me spell it out for you.

For example, if you have decided to blog about certain types of lawsuits involving a certain range of situations involving a certain range of people, you can then find a website that already talks about that topic.

Enter their domain names into paid SEO tools like SEMrush or Ahrefs, and you will get lots of organic keywords that these sites already rank for.

You then cross-reference these keywords' difficulty with their monthly search volume as well as their search intent.

I can't emphasize the search intent part enough!

This is where the rubber meets the road.

If you are able to deliver on the intent of your target keywords, you will rank better than your competitors.

It's only a matter of time.

The key is to reverse-engineer your competitors, come up with better content, make sure that your content is up to date, more comprehensive, and actually delivers the experience searchers are looking for when they type in your target keyword into Google.

If you can do this and you interlink your content correctly, your new site will be a success.

It's just a matter of time.

Also, don't just publish 10, 20, or 30 posts and call it a day.

This is another common mistake I see newbie bloggers commit again and again.

How much content do you need to post?

Well, I don't mean to depress you, but you should post at least 100–150 pieces of content.

I'm talking about high-quality content that is long enough.

I'm not talking about bits and pieces of 250 posts or brainfarts that are 500 words in length.

These must be substantive.

They also must be complete.

They have pictures as well as videos if you can find a good one.

So this takes quite a bit of time, and you can save some time by either outsourcing or training yourself to become a dictablogger.

In other words, instead of writing things out by hand, dictate to a microphone so you can maximize your volume.

Most people are able to manage 2000 words per day when they write things out by hand.

But if they dictate, such as myself, I can produce 25,000 words or more per day.

The numbers speak for themselves.

Content is most important thing. If you post high quality content without any seo you can see results. On page is last thing you should try.

Optimize your site 1st. It isn't a very hard thing and, usually, it's a one-time task. 2nd, content: Quality content means quality traffic, and quality traffic means potential $$$.

Hi, I think if you have a good amount of traffic on your youtube channel then you can create a blog and monetize it with any Ad Network (Like AdSense or Media.net), Then you can earn a good amount of $ as well.

My opinion is, provide unique and quality content that attracts your audience and optimize your site. Both are equally important.

I think both are important.

Because if you don't optimize your quality content then it won't rank.

For getting a better idea, check your competitors like how they are doing with their blogs.

Patience is more important when you create a new blog. Work on on-page and backlinks together for better results.!

Both are the very important always content is most important you should publish unique and quality then automatically you can see the result then the right time you use the optimize its helps to rank
