What can I do with a domain?

Hi guys, a newbie here.

A few months ago my sister won a web domain with hosting included and SSL certificate in a contest at her work. But she doesn't have time and doesn't know what to do with the domain so she told me she can use it.

Is there any way to make money with the domain? Doing whatever?

Probably many will say that I should create a niche website, but as far as I know I need a lot of time to start making profits, and it's not that I can't wait, what happens is that the domain should expire in about 9 months and I want to at least get enough money to buy another domain and invest something in it.

The bad things: She registered some random domain name, I have $0 to invest and I know next to nothing about coding.

The good thing: I have all the time in the world to learn, try, fail, and try again.
