We asked ourselves if it is possible to make our website invisible to certain people, places, IPs, canvas fingerprint. It is about the following: We advertise our website via Google Ads. Unfortunately, there is a platform on the internet that has a quite powerful SEO and really writes very bad reviews about us every time, which are always found by our customers.

So we came up with the idea: what if this website and its employees didn't find our website at all? Precisely because we find and block their IPs, search networks, user agents or anything else? You could, for example, set up a honeypot page where such a report appears, advertise it and track all IPs, user agents and other things. This would then be blacklisted directly on all other pages so that the website cannot be accessed. Since the visitors also include those who write the articles (the site is always checked beforehand), they would also be blocked.

We were also wondering if there was a service or tracking app that could do the job for us. We have several email addresses and conversations from the platform that writes badly about us.

Yes but you need to track which are the google IPs first. Ads doenst allow any ip blocking, thats why you need to track google ips and whitelist them

Just look for cloaking services, this is pretty typical.

They'll actually reroute users depending on the IP ranges.

Very hard to do since you need to keep track of who to block. You’ll me ever know all there IPs. This is not the way to go.

All of this works - but is mostly only usefull to fight cheap bots. If they really write reviews, they won't have too hard of a job, to get on your site. They mostly only have to turn on NordVPN or something like this^^
I guess, the only way would be, to spam the serps on your own and just rank out those dudes...

I suggest use all the options mentioned by people for getting maximum benefit, Like from Cpanel create rules, Use a sophisticated cloaker like JCI or Trafficshield.io which provide creation of custom rules in it. Try referrer based redirection on pages and you will be sorted out. I guess

If your solution wanted to be bit expensive enough, then you can think of provisioning a Firewall. For this it doesn't need to be self hosting is mandatory, but a well defined cloud providers could help you the same.

On Firewall, you have a complete control of what and whom need to be allowed and tear down. Even you can think about L4 and L7 application firewalls. Unless the total proximity is visible or known, its hard to describe a solution.

The ideas you raised are totally possible. Now, people coming from Google will each show with their own IP address, not the ones from Google. You need to identify the people you want to block and only block them. You can do this several ways (IP, cookie, fingerprinting, etc.).

You would be better off with a server you control, to do this (hosting on a VPS is enough)
And you need these people to visit first to collect the info and/or place the cookie. You could try to email them a link and incite them to visit it.

In the end, if they clear their cookies, use another browser, another device, another internet connection or a VPN, they'll land on your site. It's a lot of work and probably too uncertain. They won't figure out they're blocked and find a way to access? They probably will. And you will have done all this for nothing. Even if you adapt, they'll adapt, and there is no end in sight.
