Ok so 3 concepts means you will initially get 3 ideas which are totally different with different styles. You then get to choose which one you like best or need modified and the final version you get are all the source file of the one concept you chose out of the 3 concepts.
This gives you 3 variations to choose one from.
Hope that is clear.
Tks
Thanks for that.
Ok, I think part of the problem is me – or rather the style of logo I needed.
I ordered three items from you, two of which were logos with three concepts each.
The only part of the order I got was the two logos, and then I only got two concepts for each. So in effect, half the order was never done.
When I got the logos, I was very disappointed. I didn’t know what to do. I thought I could go into Canva and knock up a more professional concept as an example. But then I thought that was stupid. I was paying to take some work off of my shoulders.
Until I saw your response just now – I thought maybe the concepts were literally just basic [using rubbish clip arts] to show what the design would look like. And after I chose a concept, then the real artwork would be made.
I showed the designs [yours] to some friends and told them I did them – so they would be polite – they all came back and suggested if the logos were for a real business, I shouldn’t do them myself [yep, the ones your guys did, they meant] my friends told me I should get a professional company to do them. Hmm.
I will explain the problem – I can post the designs here if you think I am being unfair and people can decide whether I am totally out of order.
Logo One:
Both concepts are a simple clip art with text overlaid. It would have taken 30 seconds each to create. They look lifeless and sad/empty. Considering the brief was exciting and fun – like a celebration, they definitely missed the mark.
Logo Two:
To be fair, would have taken a few minutes each, and again just clip art - both of which are on the first page of free images [for this thing] on Google – and they haven’t been tweaked (eg the clip art overlaps the bottom of the circle… it’s just been clumsily stuck on).
In terms of their look? Would you use them for a professional company? If you want me to explain a bit more what’s wrong with the concepts – I am happy to.
My problem is – I need the order done. I feel like I am screwed in that I will have to do the work myself, whether or not you complete the job. I mean, I will have to work on ideas and send them to you. Which seems pointless. And will probably take me longer. But I also feel like I have lost faith in the work produced. I feel like if I give something to your guys – it will come back with obvious and poor clip art stuck on to it. I feel like it will come back worse.
Now to defend you guys a bit.
I know I still haven’t got a lot of my order – maybe the last concepts would have been professional and brilliant? I just feel the work I saw made me want to cancel the order – and I haven’t known exactly what to do. I apologise for waiting a few days to gather my thoughts.
I know you have unlimited revisions – I have thought about that – and maybe it’s not fair of me to be so put off and not let you have the chance to put it right.
The big thing in your defence – is my order is maybe unusual for you. This is for logos for a company for children. And maybe your guys are experts at the more normal professional business type logos. So, it was my fault for having the wrong job.
I did explain the job to you fully before I booked it. But still, maybe I had the wrong expectations. I wish I had asked for examples in my field – as then I could have made an informed decision.
I apologise for waiting a few days before bringing this up.
Like I said, you never sent half the job, and the work sent we could never use.
I feel like I have to do the work myself now – I will need some convincing that your guys can complete the order satisfactorily. I’m really annoyed at myself to have wasted so much time on this.
And I apologise to your guys – I realise it’s not their fault that the job is not something they are trained/used to doing.
Again, sorry for bringing this up.
What do you suggest? I would be happy for a refund – and we’ve both wasted our time but no hard feelings – but if you have some compelling reason for being able to complete the job properly – like you gave the job to a newer person and now someone with more experience will take a look at it… I don’t know.
All the best
