I have heard that YouTube deducts tax for viewers from the united states.
so is it any good to have most viewers from the US?
In doing my keyword research, should I look for keywords that most viewers are from the united states or not?

Of course you should target US audience. If you are a non-US citizen then you need to fill up the form that Google Adsense will ask you fill that will give you relief from paying tax from US views.
