As others have mentioned, if you don't pay your taxes, you'lll get humped by the tax man.

For those in the UK that have a job and pay tax through PAYE and also make money from IM, remember that if your expenses are below £1k, use the trading allowance option instead and out of your profits, you'll get to keep an extra £1k before they charge you tax on it.
