Hello,

Someone I know by sight shared his business with me. He has duplicated his site more than 10,000 times with sub-domains bearing the names of cities, regions and departments. All his sub-domains are identical in content. But this last one ranks enormously and has not suffered any penalty.

He told me about the breacrumb which must be suppressed so that google does not detect that they are different domains.

But he didn't tell me more.

If anyone has the solution it would be amazing.

But if you suppress the breadcrumb and therfore destroy the connection, they will be considered separate domains.

Can you elaborate?

Google doesn't care about duplicate content.

I agree with you. A site was shared here on BHW had 1000 of affiliate product reviews. The site was using a template on all pages.

Template Example:
H1 - Best “Product” reviews
Intro - “Product” description from Amazon
H2 - “Product”: Our top 3 Picks
Paragraph -100 words, same description
H2 - How we review our products
Paragraph - 1000 words long article about how they reviewed their products
The last paragraph was same on every page of their website.
The site was getting millions of traffic.

Hello everyone, thank you for your answers. the problem with my friend's case is that all his subdomains are 100% identical. I let you see for yourself (vivatax.ch). Go to semrush and look at the subdomains, you'll see it's crazy.

Hello,

The idea is to create a primary site and delete all the links between the domain and the subdomains. This will detect it as 3000 different sites (in case you have 3000 subdomains). In the eyes of google it's the same site. So in fact it is as if for google a click on a subdomain is a click on each subdomain.

The person in question who is doing this told me that the bredcrumb should be removed. But I don't know more.

Thank you for your answer.

The last point informs that the site in question had paragraphs of 1000 words with the same last paragraph each time.

This is a similarity but not a 100% duplicate content.

My friend's case is very interesting because all the subdomains are 100% identical and have no difference.

That's what drives me crazy, how did he manage to get all his subdomains to rank despite the accuracy of the content of his subdomains.

Sounds weird

Are they all indexed and ranking well?

Yep all of them, I will soon work with a developer who does this kind of techniques, I'll let you know

Consider writing out a small rundown of the techniques being used. If Google doesn't care, then a few other marketers doing this won't matter as much.

There would be no need for a plagiarism checker. Honestly, this seems like churn & burn with extra steps.

There have been many variations of this technique.

While it may seem tempting, I wouldn't poke the bear.

You have to understand that Google's artificial intelligence technology continues to grow by leaps and bounds.

All sorts of tricks to try to get away from providing value, original content and high value materials to end users will eventually fail.

It's only a matter of time.

Currently, there's been a lot of penalties being handed out, but it's an arms race, you guys probably already know this.

Google cracks down on one technique, and people find a workaround so tons of sites crop up.

Google levels up and wipes out the vast majority of both sides, and then people figure something else out and the process repeats itself again.

If you have the resources, the time and most importantly, the guts to keep playing this cat and mouse game, then more power to you.

But if you're looking to build a real business, and that will withstand the test of time without resorting to tricks, focus on value.

Focus on the intent behind the keywords that you're targeting.

Focus on content that actually delivers the kind of experiences people searching for those materials or looking for.

The reason they're allowed to rank is because there's no issue with what they're doing.

The accusation is that they're "Not adding any significant value to the searcher". But even if the content is identical... a user in New Jersey, USA would benefit from it even if it's the exact same content that a user in Ohio, USA would see. It just might rank better locally, versus trying to rank the same page across the entire nation.

When it comes to localized content, Google does not de-index it because it's actually relevant. (There is no duplicate content "penalty". Similar pages are simply not included in the index.)
