I would suggest that the forum locks sales thread and makes signatures invisible for anyone with a shitlist including those those that's isn't live... because, some users already know they will be out due to their act ,but still get to scam people because others can see their sales thread including contacts links via their signature

i think for the sellers who have active shitlist, their signature shows such message and also shitlist link is provided

update: not true, I was wrong. sorry. i am looking at active shitlist and no such message in seller's signature

This is something I used to do when I handled the Shitlists, just to make potential buyers aware, but it also encourages the person being shitlisted to speed up the process.

then i was not mistaken about this happening. I knew I saw this. So my conclusion that is a manual process done by the mod responsible for that particular shitlist.

i think it should become a practice going forward for all shitlists.

I do not think we can do that if the SL is not live yet but I do try to adjust there signature and home page when it goes live.

As to locking the sales thread I like that idea as well since the accused in a SL is not allowed to sell until the SL is resolved.

I'll leave this thread up but will certainly bring it up with the staff to see if we can make that part of an official process.

Before crime is not proved, no one should be punished.
If they run from shitlist it is okay to do what @MisterF was doing 12-15 hours should be grace for different time zones

Instead sales threads should be removed, made hidden if proven guilty

i understand this part
some real sellers might not just be available to respond to the shitlist

i really do not understand,
you cannot really determine if a user is running from/or(not responding) to a shitlist
@Josh Butler intentionally didn't come online, when he had the shitlist( i knew because I had wanted to shitlist him too)
generally, some people will not just login into their accounts as a result of the shitlist
I believe the time frame for shitlist does justice to that, and the removal of contact details, and even limitation of pm
will be good

reasons, been that some newbies are already getting too scared, as a result of too many scams seen on the shitlist subforum
and this may really be affecting true businesses
another one is JrViP or premium members( i feel there should be a limit if they are having issues relating to shitlist(no pm, contacts.removed) I know this is a lot of work
but maybe this is already part of marketplace 2.0

If not responding to shitlist I guess there is a 24 hours time frame that is decreased, instead fast reply to shitlist should be made mandatory. Like one genuine and satisfactory reply with in every 48 hours for both parties or party not responding properly should be eliminated.

isn't there already timeframe for reply online or not?
there is no problem if those that make shitlist is guaranted to be real victim and those accused is 100% real perpetrator.
since it's not ,hence the timeframe, and nothing is done till it's proven. otherwise some bad actor will start sabotage competitor since they cannot sale when sl is up.

Very good suggestion. Should be implemented to put a check on scammers.

Precisely. The scenario we want to prevent is one where an account operated by a competitor comes on to makes a fraudulent claim against a seller to get their sales threads temporarily closed.

We can definitely add this to the official process as a manual process for the moment (many of you already know this being in IM, but you don't automate a process until you've figured it out manually first), but only after the actual shit list thread goes live.

This way, if the seller doesn't respond to the DM they receive from staff beforehand, it will give them a reason to respond to the shit list situation. Even in the scenario where it could be a misunderstanding or a fraudulent shitlist, sellers are still expected to be active here to respond to any customer queries they receive in their sales thread.

In regards to signatures, this isn't something we can do at this time, but we can look into it at a future date.

Anyway, I'll add it in now. Great suggestion, @medialounge.
