Which Gurus Are Worthless?

I see some of you guys hating on Ewen Chia. I had a sit down with him once in Auckland and he showed me 50 different affiliate accounts and 20 something of his own products on clickbank, some under other names.

He definitely does make a lot of money selling 'how to make money online' rehashed stuff. He admitted that, just repackages it and updates his stuff every now and then.

He does still make a buttload outside of the IM niche though. I saw inside a few of his publisher accounts. He does just what he says he does, finds niches that make money, create a product, create a pseudonym to sell the products yadda yadda yadda.

He started off with a bit of an advantage having worked for Google, but since then his big secret is just replicating what works, and outsourcing it to ramp it up.

Most of the accounts I saw, and we picked them at random from his roboform list, were 1k+ a day, so yeah he does make some pretty reasonable money, and he's not too bad a guy, wouldn't let me drive his audi R8 though.

Yeah, there's lots of good info for noobs in his "How I Made My First Million On The Internet" book... that's the ground zero stuff that most "guru's" don't even teach. Most "gurus" teach what they think is cutting edge and end up having mediocre or poor results for people who actually buy this info and implement it.

I've read a couple Joel Comm books, and they're full of fluff.

Howie Schwartz, like was said before, just pushes tools on people. I'm sure he gets by on niches that aren't IM, but obviously his meat and potatoes is from people who pay outrageous prices for his "private tools" that he threatens to take offline in every other email (which he sends at least 2 per day to each list, spamming prick.)

So far, I like to keep track of what Kern does... I've backward engineered some of his niche product landing pages and campaigns (with the help of Mass Control 2.0 of course)... and convert pretty well. Of course, Frank isn't without his fluff, and he really doesn't know a damn thing about SEO or "cutting edge" techniques... so the only stuff you really learn from the dude is HOW to sell things by painting stories. Same could be said about Eben Pagan.

I mean, that's not a bad thing at all. I'd rather learn the techniques of selling to people, not spend hours upon hours of my day trying to figure out what SEO "tricks" work for this month. But, since I don't have the ability (yet) to hire someone to manage all my bleeding-edge SEO stuff, I'll have to keep trucking along

One thing I have learned is that methods, in and of themselves, don't work. Instead, YOU must work the method. Don't be fooled by the "Make A Zillion Dollars A Day With One Click Of Your Mouse" stuff. Internet marketing is HARD WORK. But if you are willing to put the time and effort into it and stay focused on one or two projects at the most, without running around like a jackrabbit, constantly chasing the next biggest thing, you CAN make money. And once you DO see that something is working, HIT IT HARD, scale it up, and cash in
