Always say no to everything guys

I bet you bought that 95" oled superduper tv with all your riches.

In a universe where 95" is 50" and the oled superduper is toshiba, then yes, of course :D

I pay INR 399 per month for internet in Indian with prepaid for 1 year

Guys always say no to everything, you won't have no problems in life.

I get a call from my internet service provider the other day, offering me free TV channels. I say nothing is free, what's the catch? They say there's no catch, it's free.

All right, let's do it...

Today they came over and set it up, and I signed the contract. After they left I'm looking at the contract and I see it ends in 2 years from today. But my current contract for the internet expires in 10 months. I though the channels went together with my internet contract.

And that's the catch! Now I'm stuck paying for this for 14 more months after my current internet package expires.

That aside, under normal circumstances I would have gotten a new package for internet when my current one expires, and I would get 6-12 months free internet, and then some $25/mo for the next 12-18 months (2 years contract). Even if my current internet provider won't offer a special offer on a renewal (like Hostgator), I could just switch to a different provider and get my discounts and call it a day.

Anyway, I did a stupid thing. I knew there was a catch. And for a split second it did cross my mind that if there's a new contract then the contract expiry date could be an issue, but that split second wasn't enough to form a thought and have me act on it. And that aside, those fucks should have laid down the situation for me instead of promising "free". It ain't free! Big picture, 2 years from now I'm $300 lighter than I would normally be because of this "free" business.

The good thing is that I have 14 days in which I'm allowed to cancel the contract, which I will. But these pricks see what they do they wrote on the contract that it was signed on the 26th of June. But it wasn't, it was signed on the 30th of June. And it's Friday, so if I don't go there on Saturday, fast forward to Monday and I've already lost 9 days out of those 14 where I'm allowed to cancel the contract.

Anyway they work tomorrow (Saturday) so I'll go there first thing in the morning and get clarification on all the details, and if I'm right, cancel the fucking thing straight away. And if they give me any crap about how I'm not allowed to cancel it because reasons, that's breaking the law and my rights, so I'm gonna sue them :D

Remember guys, say no to everything always, you won't have any problems in life...
There's a local saying: There's No Free Food In Freetown.

For context, Freetown is the capital of Sierra-Leone.

I know how it feels ,unfortunately almost everyone its on interest today and want your money ,women ,relatives etc

So i went again today. This time they could cancel the contract, and they didnt need a permission from the guy who sold me the deal. I think the chick on Friday just wanted an excuse to call the guy who sold me the deal. Or she's retarded.

In any case, but they couldnt cancel the contract. What they do is submit a request to cancel it. Then someone needs to call me to confirm and actually cancel it, and only then i can take back the equipment.

Its all highly retarded.

Sometimes i think to myself i should start a normal business, offline. Id put everyone out of business, because i dont fuck with people. But unfortunately i dont have connections, so theyll bury me with their organized crime and crony capitalism and government and media connections as soon as they realize that theyll all have to clean toilets at my company for minimum wage if i remain operational.

Meh...

So yesterday afternoon I get an sms message that the contract has been cancelled, and I can take back the equipment. I just went there and took back the equipment now.

Of course, there was a small complication. They had no way to cancel the (TV) contract and keep my existing (Internet) contract as is, because apparently they have been merged. So what the girl had to do was cancel the entire contract, and then make me a new contract for the internet, which will last for only 10 months, which is when my current internet contract is supposed to expire.

But on the new contract, validity is for 2 years. The girl said she has to do it like that, because company rules bla bla bullshit, but that she put a note in the system that the contract is valid for 10 months only. And I also made her write that on the actual paper of the contract, and sign it too.

In a day or two I'll call the central of the company and confirm all this, to make sure it's all as it should be. Gotta double check everything with these assholes...

I promise you that 10 months from now I'll be explaining everything to some asshole over there trying to explain why and how my contract is valid until today (10 months from now), not 2 years from now...

On a positive note, apparently my internet was 200MB, and now it's 250MB. Again, some technical crap, she couldn't write out the new contract with the old speed, so she had to put the new speed (but she's not sure if they'll actually upgrade me to that speed). But either way it's fine by me, if now I get slightly faster internet it's only fair because of the torture I had to endure due to all this! But whatever, my internet is really fast as it is, I can stream porn with no buffering and everything hahaha :p

All that's left in a day or two to call central and confirm all this bullshit. And of course to pray that some monkey technician that works for the company won't just cancel out the entire contract and I get left with no internet or something and then have to go deal with these pricks again to get my internet restored.

Murphy's Law says it's not over, and I have to experience more painful horrible torture. We'll see...

how much you paying for 2 years internet contract with 250 mbps speed? what country you from?

how much you paying for 2 years internet contract with 250 mbps speed? what country you from?

Well, the speed is 200 mbsps technically. Well...

204800/81920 Kb/s

I don't know what that means, but that's what it says on the contract. All I know is that I used to have 10 MB or 10 mbps of ADSL internet, and it could not handle my few computers and bots. And now this internet I've been running for over a year now, and it handles my bots, my surfing, my working, porn, and the occasional torrent without a glitch, without a slow moment. It's real good.

Now, money, I paid $0.01/mo for the first 12 months, and $27/mo for the next 12 months. That's a 2 year contract.

I won't be able to renew the contract when it expires with a new special offer, which means I won't be able to get a sweet deal like that again. But I have a little trick up my sleeve. The trick is, when contract gets near expiration I'll look around at all the Internet service providers in my city and see which one has the best deal, and then I'll switch to them (just as long as the have good rep for promised speeds and uptime). So I'll get a sweet deal again.

I'm from and reside in country called @Scorpion Ghost . It's the best country really, you're totally free. Except not allowed to ride unnecessarily loud bikes and cars where people live. And no dogs that bark where people live (you can walk them there, just not have them live there), unless you have big yard. Basically you're not allowed to do anything where you bother somebody else. Other than that, freedom town. But my physical presence is, erm, somewhere in the Balkans, maybe...

Where do you live? :suspicious:

I live in India and here a billionaire of petroleum sector gone crazy. That's why right now I pays USD 70.8 per year(prepaid for 1 year)

It's how they keep getting people to may more and more money, always the same with all the TV/internet companies.

And the hell continues...

I have a router in my hall and from the router i have 3 ethernet cables going to 3 separate rooms. When i first got the router, ports 2 and 3 were locked, so i had to unlock them.

When they came to set up the TV channels (in the living room) they asked me for the router password. But by the time i found it they got it and did what they did.

And now i try to connect the PC i have there to the ethernet socket, and it wont work. Then i go to the router settings in WAN and untick Lan 2 from IPTV and tick it for Internet, to open the port for internet. Not working.

Then i play with the lan ports and cables, and for some reason the router only works when an ethernet cable is connected to 1 or 2 ports at the same time. As soon as i connect a 3rd cable, the one in my living room stops working. The one in the living room is a split cable for internet and telephone, so perhaps thats why it loses it.

But even when the cable from the living room is connected to the router and working, my PC says "no internet connection" and the Lan light on the router is not flickering or turned on at all. Say i connect it to Lan 2. The Lan 2 light stays off.

But if i connect any other cable to any of the ports, the Lan light turns on.

So great...........

Im gonna call the guy who came to connect the tv channels and ask him hoe to undo what he did in the router settings. And if that doesnt fix it then he's gonna have to come and put things how they used to be again.

I hate this fucking shit

I called the guy and he wasn't very useful.

I ended up resetting the router, and then I unlocked the ports again. Again there were some issues, but I think I got it working.

It's one of those things where you get it working and you never ever touch the router or anything ever again. And if you follow the rule and you say NO to touching it, it will work forever. For a million years it will work. But if you touch it, forget about it, you're swimming in mud again.

I'll have to monitor the PC over in the living room to see if the internet is stable or if it's cumming and going. Fingers crossed it's stable.

I can't wait for 10 months to fly by so I can change my ISP. Note to self, get the new ISP to set everything up exactly how you want it, and triple check everything before you sign any contracts or let the technicians go.

I'm gonna call this ISP now to confirm the stupid TV contract has been cancelled, and to confirm the note is in the system that my current internet contract expires in 10 months (not in 2 years).

And then I can be done with this fucking problem...

Well well well, apparently the contract for the TV has been cancelled. And the new contract for the internet is valid for only 10 months (not 2 years like it says on the actual contract).

So the girl that cancelled the contract did a good job. If everybody always did a good job I wouldn't have to double check everything.

Well anyway, we're done here.

Never forget. JUST SAY NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nancy Reagan tried to tell us, but we didn't listen

he is actually marketing his GPT-3 websites which could be build for $60 instead of $499 offered by him

What? Who? Me? I don't sell websites. Never did. What? o_O
