This forum is no different then the real world, you need to know how to minimize your risks by knowing what the terms is and who the counterpart is.

Have a little decency by being respectfull atleast, this guy is not claiming he did everything by the book but why are yall so eager to victim blame - rather to see if there are any solutions new members could benefit from?

There are 100s of members that are on shitlists here so I think that a membership doesn't stop scammers.

Claiming that this happened because the scammer was not a member is illogical as members are scamming here and there too.

I think the fault lays at the way this forum is built. It is like stepping in early 2000s internet.

Because the Marketplace on here mimics real world trade - being that it's a part of it. Shitheads are there too, Shitheads are here too.

If I need something on the INTERNET - I do my due diligence before parting with my monies. If it's a forum, I join - i go through the user's post history, check their thread and what not. If it's a website, I check their Google presence, their reviews, what members elsewhere are saying.

Nothing of that sort happened in this case. The OP got a message promising a ton of moolah - revenue share and what not - and happily parted with his money.

Yes, the real world polices things, just as here, the real worl can not take responsibility for people not minimizing their decisions on business transactions, the real world also see a lot of victims even if the real world has a huge number of laws.

There are multiple 15 years old here, I have been 15 yrs old and been on this forum - are you saying that a 15 years old should be smarter about the internet and scamming is his fault?

I understand your mad, but he hasnt done anything to scam you. I agree that forum could, and should take responsibility and expand their efforts - but the members dont have the blame. They are entitled to an different opinion.

This forum "enables" financial transaction - with a listing - enables publicly verifiable reviews. Members here don't even trust reviews from new accounts. That's where the onus on the forum ends.

Even then, if a fuck up happens via a BST sale on the forum - mods get involved, resolve disputes or issue a ban to the member. They also do about 200 different things to ensure a community of this size is up and running.

Sorry to hear so many people in the community facing issues like this.
I have been on the forum for like 10 years now. I have got the short end of the stick on a few days (under $1k for sure)
but I have spent alot of money in this form over the years and really have been able to network with some awesome service providers. When I have lost money, its been small stuff here and there and kind of "testing the waters"

If you do business with someone on here, make sure you check into their reputation. I never do business with new accounts, for services that done have a bunch of verified reviews. I am also a Jr VIP myself now. I understand that the $100 to get a JR. VIP account is not much of a loss for a scammer, but for a BUYER it has huge benefits as well. For example, most reputable sellers will give test/evaluation copies of there products to JR VIPs.. why? because you've spent $100 on a JR VIP membership so they are aware they you spend money on the forums and aren't going to waste there time for services.

Be smart out there! Also, learn how to do stuff yourself that way you aren't always having to pay people to do things that are easy to accomplish yourself. These forums are as much about the service providers as it is the knowledge.

But if this scammer had bought the JR VIP, what would be the difference? Well, he would be banned, shitlisted and...he wouldn't get his money back the same way. The forum fails on the impossibility of getting the money back.

Are you not expecting people to learn and understand rules in the real world? Internet is the real world since more than a decade, people behave as nothing can affect them since they feel anonomus on Internet. It is a learning thing. And 15 years ols are probably more experienced then me on Internet since they grow up with it, the downside they have both here and in the real world is thinking ahead, a 15 years old always had that against them even in real world. I made so many mistakes myself as a youth, but I learned from it.

Thanks a lot, exaclty you catch the point either if people here get scammed from people who has the GOLD badge they will not get the money back!! so what we are talking about ? i meant this when i wrote BHW is not doing anything to prevent the FRAUD might help the people who want to fraud to come here because they know its easy to do it!
