Hi,

As a digital nomad, I use a lot Airbnb.

I just thought it could be nice to have a bot running 24/7, that able me to find good deals before someone else's catch them
or when someone cancels a reservation, i will be able to grab it

Does this kind of bot exist?
if not, how can I build one by myself with a no-code app?

thanks

You should hire a freelancer to do it, he can be profitable for you in the long term.

Do you make your travel decisions based on good AirBnB deals? Just trying to understand the purpose of having the bot 24/7. That's a lot of data to process if you want the bot to review every AirBnB listing. Does a solution like Scott's cheap flights email service satisfy your needs?

How much would you pay for this?

Think about how exactly you'd define a "good deal". Once you have something algorithmic, it will be much easier to either:
A) start coding it yourself
or
B) hire someone who will be able to make a product you're happy with

there's many free tools online "alert me when something changes on this website"
plug in your list of airbnb your looking at and it will ping when price changes or anything is different.
just a cheap idea you can implement tonight.

Hi,
to get an alert on price change you can use distill.

More confortable and deeper solution would be a script running 24/7 for that you have to make a list of criteria if it s in one city, or multiple, according to the average price or your price because on airbnb the price is not fixed it will rise if there is more demande on certain date.
Also whats is a good deal for you ? also take in consideration the distance, in center it's more expensive than around.

To conclude either you set up a bunch of filter and you run distill to get notification
Or you hire for a script 24/7 for that you have to set up a list of criteria that make a good deal for you and then let the script book automatically if there is free cancelation available. So once is booked you may check to keep or cancel the reservation.

Don't afraid to cancel in same day, it's good for the host .... Airbnb boost the ad because it was canceled and it will be booked better than without your cancelation.

Thanks a lot for the tip
Especially last one
Didn’t know about it :)
What is distill?

I start to dislike Airbnb more and more.
They took off the affiliate program after only one year making all those links you built during covid totally unuseful. They took off their referal program too.
The prices start to be insane ; like 2-3 times the normal price for a month.
And no loyalty perk at all which peaces me off with their rather poor customer service.

I can see the use of the bot on Airbnb. But not sure if it can really beat a flexible search by week or month to show you the most competitive options in real time. If you use correctly the flexible search with proper homemade lists, you can get some results for the best deals without having a bot working h24.

I am doing my own lists on booking.com. I see some properties you can find on Airbnb but at a cheaper price. You can also get the Genius Level 3 for lifetime quite easily and the discounts are pretty nice (you can also use your own affiliate link which adds up). I see a few good deals from time to time on Airbnb but the good stuff for deals is now outside of Airbnb (direct website, cash in hand with the owner, facebook groups, booking.com).

distill io it s a plugin for chrome , moz.... could be run on their server too, it will notify you if any number changed on a page, you can choose the spot you want to monitor, like increased or decreased. You can for exemple set up all filter you want on Airb then save that url and check the number of apt available, and see every 5 min if that number increase = new ad or cancelation for exeple
or monitor a price of an apt. It's easy to use, powerful, and free if you run on your side.

Airb have now aircower, meaning that if someone destroy your apt they will cover it. Also I met a host who had some issus with a traveler who where drug addict, the host were scared called police .... airbnb paid him new locks 300euro , paid therapist 800 euros not bad hein.

I don't want to defend them but for hosts they improved.

The hosts are afraid if you go out of airb, they don't know you it's verry difficult to trust these days.

The trick would be book one day, and call the host to introduce your self and see if he can rent you directly. Low season you can find smart people who will be ready to reduce price it s better than anything for them.
good luck

For hosts, they did improved but for customers it is worse and worse. And prices are going to the roof.

I don't get any perk despite having spent thousands and thousands on the website and having a clean profile.
Hosts prefer the money than clean profiles anyway.
Sure, they act as a potential secure intermediary, once I wrote to the customer because the flat was in the worst possible state, I tried to arrange with the owner but finally I decided to move out after discussing it with the owner because it was impossible to live there (cockroach, hurt badly my foot with the bed which broke) despite the positive reviews. I got the feeling it was almost my fault I didn't contact the customer service the first day (I did it on the second or third day) because I try to arrange directly with the owner.

I learnt my lesson, don't be too nice as a customer, directly cancel in the first 24 hours if it is too bad; and don't expect anything from the CS. They are more on the side of the owner those days.
Brian Chesky keeps making promises he never does now Airbnb is a bloody good cash cow.
Sure, Airbnb is comfortable to use but it makes you a bit too lazy sometimes whereas some good and cheaper alternatives do exist with a bit of search or creativity. I've seen tons of digital nomads fed up with Airbnb on facebook groups.

As an affiliate, they also did the shitiest move I've seen in the industry. Opening a program in the middle of a crisis and closing it only a year after. Booking is maybe the most reliable affiliate program in the industry on the other hand. I hope they do a proper monthly deal page someday and gives the proper competition Airbnb deserves.

I'm just curious You trying to make some business with it or You just need it personal for yourself ?

Yes. Exactly my thoughts...

OP, I am also a traveler, I don't use Airbnb that much, I prefer booking, but...
There are too many variations in each neighborhood. Quality is one of them.
