Attn Indians: Stop Calling People "Dear"

For some reason Indians think that calling people "Dear" is okay.

It's not correct English.

1. The term "Dear" is what a wife calls her husband or a husband calls his wife. We Americans NEVER call each other "Dear" in the same way British people say "Mate".

2. When you use this term, you come off as a scammer because this is what online catfish scammers use.

So please stop calling people "Dear".

You are what is called a closet racist.
Get the fk on with your life what you care what terms an ethnicity uses?

I don’t know why so many people dislike Indians though. I went travelling sometime ago and stopped at a pub, there I met an air hostess for Virgin Atlantic. She asked if I was indian, I said nah, after that she was like oh thank gawd… she said if there’s one place all the cabin staff hate to travel to and from it’s India. She said how every time they make the toilets inhospitable. They pee all over the floors and some how get shit on everything, the walls, the mirrors, even handles. And she fears for the hygiene safety of staff. So gross but I don’t think it’s fair to ever tar a whole bunch of people like that personally. What about the people that don’t say dear or wipe shit on the walls.

Still no one avoids them just for some paper peices :p :D

"Dear", "sir", "maam", "my friend", get it out of your vocabulary.

I agree. Anytime I interview someone on Fiverr and they use the word Dear I move on.

Actually we say Alsalam Alikom (Peace upon you).. ! I have never heard anyone in Egypt says Welcome (Or Arabic translation for it) unless they are dealing with tourists or something

The couple more billions says it, but the mail I get from Egypt almost all starts with 'Welcome'

Yes that's what needs to be done you don't like it just move on after all there's so many service providers to choose from.

Pretty much how I operate. Unfortunately, there's so much garbage on Fiverr that even when they don't say ** DEAR ** you run the risk of getting someone that's just learned to stop saying ** DEAR ** and you're back at the same crappy service.

oh and I also hate when they say "for the same"
whats that even supposed to mean?

Hello yaar, revert back to me for the same pls,,,,

What’s really ironic is if you’ve ever experienced tech support for big companies at Indian call centres. Now that is quite a swing of pendulum. Arrogant, brash, rude. It’s almost as if they feel they have ’the power’ to show their true colours and be as difficult and discourteous as the can for the sake of it. Nothing like the ass kissing in IM. I have two friends who work as field engineers for the two biggest ISPs here, and the opinion is the same - useless, time wasters, incompetent, ignorant and so on..
When I have to call tech support I cross my finger hoping that I get through to Philipines or Scotland since they have basic manners at least.
I think it’s all the rolling about and inhaling the fumes from their own sewage that might be making their heads numb, because it’s 2022 and they somehow still haven’t managed to build any nationwide sewage system or water treatment systems and end up knee deep in their own shit everytime it rains… but I might be wrong - again, im not saying every Indian is like that but there seems to be a dire lack of real customer service training in the professional arenas, esp when dealing with international customers imo.
